Email sent to BBC and Channel 4

I have sent an email to the BBC and Channel 4 here in England about the possibility of them showing firefly. I gave them a quick overview of what the show was about and have said i would be happy to tell them more about the show if they are interested. I will let you all know if i get a reply.

You know, BBC does Dr Who. Surely they'd be a candidate for FIREFLY.

They also did Red Dwarf which has similar aspects to it as Firefly. Its worth a try just to see what kind of reply i get.

The BBC does its own shows, so would they be interested in showing television shows from other networks?

They showed buffy and the simpsons alot so who knows. Plus they have extra channels that are on digital now like bbc3 so maybe they could fit into a slot on there. Like i said its worth sending the e-mail just to see what kind of responce i get, cant hurt to try.

At the recent Dr Who writers panel - everyone knew ALL about firefly and Whedon's work. And the Dr Who show these days is cluttered with Whedon references. It would be nice if they could show firefly - you're not wrong.
And if they don't show Dollhouse i will not be responsible for the consequences (ie sulking).

a common misconception. The BBC makes very few shows anymore. It commisions existing independant production companies to make stuff - and such companies can also pitch their product to the network.
The beeb will also front money to transatlantic productions (Rome etc) and vice versa.

They also helped out with the final series of Due South when the network in america decided to drop it, another of my fave shows.

think scifi have loaned the rights from sky/fox so you might have to go through them.
