I haven't seen any spoliers about the finale so i don't have a clue what is going to happen but after watching Power Play tonight i think there is a lot of action for them to put in one hour. what does everyone else think

I've been avoiding spoilers wherever possible myself; I've had a couple of bits revealed to me inadvertently about the series finale, but everything's pretty much seemed to indicate that the episode's not going to end up wrapping anything up, that Joss is going to finish the season as he originally intended, partly as setup for what would've been the sixth and final season. Funny how the network's "final" ends up being just one shy of the creator's...and infinitely frustrating. I honestly think it's that feeling of being so close to the final hurdle that cheeses off the average Angel fan re: its cancellation.

Why...it'd be like being on just the edge of finding out what the heck Blue Sun was about or who Shepherd Book really was when...oh...um... Yeah. Browncoats know the pain.

As for my thoughts on "Power Play" itself, it took me a few minutes afterwards to recall how to form human speech. Yeah, I liked. Too soon to analyze for me, though.

I liked it lots, but I've been really enjoying this season, I think it's Angel's best yet (I think) which makes this oh so bittersweet.

And wrong. And bad. WB

Really liked the themes of corruption that have been brewing all year long.

Although, everythings gotta end. 5 years is good.

better then 12 episodes anyway...

I think Buffy went about two seasons too long, and Angel at least two short.

Just my opinion........

Maybe, except your cutting "Once More With Feeling" there, so I don't know...

I have to agree actually, "Once More With Feeling" is one of my favorites.

The finale with Buffy dying to save Dawn, Giles killing Glory " She is a hero, not like us "

That was a finale... I wait for next weeks Angel with mixed feelings because I know it will be brillant but I really don't want it to end.....................

I think BTVS could have ended after season 6, but only if Buffy and Willow had dealt with their individual issues by then. I do believe however that the season 5 finale, the original series finale, was the best finale I have ever seen. I understood why Joss said that he was ready to end BTVS, that he felt he had told the story and there was nothing left to tell. It is so far from the truth with ATS, there is just too much left to tell in the Angel Saga, which Joss has also said.

Oh, did anyone think that Angel got over Buffy's death too easily (end of season 2 begining of season 3)? I mean he went dark over Darla, who he admitted to never having loved. Just something that always bothered me. A little brooding would have been nice. Yes, I do realize he had three months to deal with it before we saw him again...I just expected more.

Oh, and about 'Power Play'. I enjoyed it very much and look forward to 'Not Fade Away' although it will be bitter sweet. I still think I liked 'Smile Time' and 'A Hole In The World' better, but this was definitely one of the best of the season.

One thing that did bother me however is that I didn't see much heat between Angel and Nina, I just expected more chemistry since there was a lot before they got together. Although it could have just been how it was portrayed in the episode. Also, Nina seemed just a little too happy about not giving Angel that 'moment of perfect happiness' I mean, yeah she didn't want to turn him into Angelus, but you have to figure the failure would have been bitter sweet for her.

(raising hand) I'm in.

BTW Anybody else want a Wolfram & Hart shirt like Angel was wearing in the raquetball scene? I especially like the red on black. I know there are "official" ones avaialable. But the one in the scene looked so "corporate" not "fantasy or fandom" I want one.

little side note: the red herring demon was called a boretz demon, and that's the last name of joss's assistant. maybe demon name inspiration was running low, cause i'm sure the real boretz isn't *that* demonic.

OK, still have to make it very clear that I love Jayne. Adam playing Jayne is great. Jayne's statue is wonderful. "I'll be in my bunk." 'Nuff said.

That out of the way, I want Hamilton dead, dead, dead and more DEAD. That may have been Illyria, but it was still Fred's face that he was pounding and stomping on. I sincerely hope that Wes can somehow give her full powers back, at least temporarily, so she can tear Hamilton into the many multiple parts he deserves to be subdivided into.

Other than that, loved the episode.

"That'll put marzipan on your pie plate, bingo!"
