Never give up. Never surrender. Oh, wait, that is another movie.

Let's think about it and take a look at what is happening with Dr. Horrible.

42 minute episode.
iTunes release.
DVD loaded with extras.
2nd possible DVD.
Soundtrack.

We hold 'til Mal gets back.

actually i am wondering more about fan films
such as intotheblack and bellflower -
given the success of Dr Horrible but more so The Guild
is it more likely that these will come to fruition?

I can image Fillion guesting on Intotheblack...
pretty sure he'd be up for it.

Yeah, it does sound that way - him not expecting any return on investment if Firefly was given a go ahead.

Another nail in the coffin.

Whoa !

...Howdy !

Can't you guys get the joke ?

A runaway team of horses couldn't stop Whedon from making more Firefly , so a little coin sure isn't going to stand in the way !

AND now on Hulu.com. Free for the viewers, paid for by the advertisers. Could be this business model might be the avenue for at least some new glimpses of the 'Verse, if the whole thing can be scaled up, mebbe with some angel investors.

and

Exactly. Joss Whedon did Dr. Horrible with his own money for the love of the art and to test the waters. See if he could really make something on his own and make money at it.

And Firefly/Serenity. Firefly/Serenity has plenty of love. Joss loves Firefly/Serenity. The actors love Firefly/Serenity. The actors and Joss love it more than we do...really. The actors and Joss love working together. And then there is us.

And Joss is getting a feel for just how much money his work brings in. He is seeing all the figures. iTunes sales. T-shirt sales. Advertising internet money. Soon Soundtrack sales, DVD sales etc. etc.
