While /that/ may be true, it doesn't take experience in /any/ language to determine that something has been hacked or something is wrong. In fact, it doesn't take any technical expertise at all to recognise the symptoms of these things.

EDIT: One last thing. Offering help, in my experience, has led to one thing: silence. Haken seems to be "going it alone" on this one and in fact, has even removed the offer to "be part of the team" off the info page.

He's got a team... It's not a trust issue either. It's just hard to manage a loose confederation of folks on a bunch of equipment, APIs, sw installs that is constantly changing. You've actually got to put up with all this crap and most people don't want to put up with crap like that. Only people that know you can tolerate reading your coding style and not demand that you make changes because it's either not what you are used to or it actually hurts your eyes when you read it.
