FillyGirl, this may sound a little out there, but have you tried acupressure? I am fortunate not to to have suffered migraines, but I have for many years found relief for the occasional headache from stimulating a specific pressure point at the base of my thumb.
Migraines have a different pressure point; go to:

...And use the "Head" drop-down menu for "Finding Acupoints" most of the way down the page. Select "Headache: Migraine," and you will get a pop-up window with several optional pressure points. It's certainly worth a try, VOMP!
