Firefly is still AHEAD of schedule!

Based on RL's announcement that he will end the Polls when the combined total votes between the Top 40 and the Nominations reaches 10 million (but no later than January 2, 2009), 49.67 (50.63) days remain to vote, based on current rates of voting (as with everything else in this Poll, this time will fluctuate).

Our ultimate goal, 750,000 votes, is 46,814 (47,790) votes, and 47.97 (47.5) days away! We're on-target, and need to maintain a daily average of 1,041 (1,039) votes to stay on track!

Firefly has had the top daily score every day since Sunday, April 29, 2007, when Xena beat us by 160 votes, something no other show has accomplished EVER SINCE!

It is worth noting that yesterday, Saturday, July 5, Firefly got 976 votes, while Nominee Moonlight got 968, a difference of only 8 votes. Especially in light of the fact that Nominee shows which enter the Top 40 invariably get a boost in daily votes, we need to work hard to keep our daily totals ahead of the hard-charging Moonlight voters, even if they are our friends! Let's use this as an incentive to vote harder for Firefly!

We've been the #1 show in the Poll since August 17th, 2007, when we passed Xena! We had tremendous numbers, in those days, with daily totals in the 1,500s and up. Let's keep up the hard burn, show everyone our Browncoat Fan Power, maintain our records, and clinch this final milestone!

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 976 (1,006) times, 30 fewer than the previous day. We need to bounce back, Browncoats! As noted above, Moonlight came within spittin' distance of our daily total, the first time in a very gorram long time anybody has done that!

Total votes Xena: 537,756 (537,309)

Yesterday, Xenites voted 447 (463) times, 16 fewer than the previous day.

(Xenites voted 529 (543) times fewer than Browncoats, yesterday.)

Firefly is 165,430 (164,901) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #17 show Laramie 164,922. That puts us at 9,570 (10,099) votes away from a 175,000 vote lead, about 18.09 (18.6) days, based on current voting.

We'll get our next banner, for 705,000 votes, in another 1,814 (2,790) votes and 1.86 (2.77) days!

7,704,640 (7,692,180) Top 40 votes have been counted as of 07/06/08. Yesterday, 12,460 (12,556) votes were cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

Let's remember that the US Independence Day weekend continues today, which may (or may not) result in an alarming drop in voting totals. Just vote as best you can; things will likely get back to normal with the Monday vote. In fact, for those voters who aren't going off for the weekend, this could be a real opportunity to make some hay while the sun shines! Whatever you do, do it carefully, and come back safe.
