YAY!!!!! im not a gambler, but that other stuff sounds good :-P
though, if i move there, then my mom's probably gonna follow me (and drag dad with her) because she wants to be close to her grandchildren...i keep reminding her that she doesnt have any yet, and when she looks at me wistfully like "i want grandchildren" my immediate response is "19. uh-uh, not yet."

You can always suggest she be a volunteer Grandma to some poverty stricken children ( there are programs for this) to give you some space
Oh also we have lovely desert landscapes that look very Firefly-esque and of course tons of available jobs.

Nellis is 300 miles south (in Vegas). We have NAS Fallon near. They have F-5 Adversaries, A-6's, Several F-18 Hornets, a couple f-16's (wierd having Air Force birds at an NAS), and a resident E2C Hawkeye. With all the joint training we see all manner of planes throughout the year.
And yes, the lack of humidity is good for the lungs.
