Secondies! Congrats on your new digs, FLT. I'd stay up and help you celebrate but it's a good hour past bedtime (he said as he got called to report to work in about two hours :P).

OK, not really, but it wouldn't surprise me and it would turn ANYBODY nutcase WITHOUT the psychic part.

Acting on inspiration from Shepherd Book's Bible, attempted today to experiment with mountain transposition. Discovered such action to be physically and geologically unfeasible, due to subject of experiment being permanently epoxied to ground. Was not expecting success after all with real mountain. On other hand, Simon won't let me play with papier-mache since the captain's reaction concerns him. Will have to go to preacher-man about impossibility of changing mountain's location and attempt to effect further repairs to Bible. On other hand, may be better to wait for preacher-man to come to me.

I think that was the only word, I think it was a word, that Beaker spoke.

I remember, in Dinosaurs, one of the TV programs they watched was a science show. After the experiment would fail, the experiment never failed to fail, the professor would say, "Time to get a new Timmy". Always reminded me of poor Beaker.

The 'Amtrak schedule' I find especially oxymoronic after being cajoled and hassled and rankled to get a freight train moving today, only to wind up sitting in a passing siding for four hours waiting for a delayed Amtrak train to go by.

He who can, can. He who can, does. He who can't, teaches. He who can't teach, manages.

He who can't manage, runs a railroad.

But, I love the boxed mix! If we didn't do brownie mixes at my house, we'd probably just buy pre-made brownies from the store, because we're lazy. Plus, they were on sale, half-off. That makes them taste even better.

Of course you can train cats.

You can train them to ignor you.

You can train them to climb on top of things so they can meow until you get them down.

You can train them to scratch your fine woodwork to personalise it.

There is probably many other things they can be trained at, but they need to tell us first.

And quit talking about chocolate and addiction at the same time. I need CA meeting now. Chocolate Anonymous.

God grant me the Serenity. Especially if it is a Firefly class.

Please no more rain. Wisconsin is turing into a swamp. We had a lake bust through an embankment and empty into a river. The rush of water took a couple of houses with it and ruined others. Ever see a two story house just get sucked away by 6,000,000, or was 600,000,000, gallons of water. The lake is empty now.

Four counties are already listed as disaster areas for government aid. I suspect more will be added to that list.

Yesterday, in the midst of the worst of the downpour, in the midst of all manner o' warm bodies swimming home from work, in the midst of thunder and lightning and whatever else the Almighty could throw at us at this time of year, we were pootling along a 15-mile stretch of track....

....along the Connecticut River.

FIFTEEN GORRAM MILES AT RESTRICTED SPEED, looking out for washouts, downed trees and any other potential for derailing a trainload of crushed stone.

ARGH. It took us over a ruttin' HOUR before they rescinded the weather alert!

Well, anyway....monstrously big and shiny CSTS news up here in beautiful northern New England! If you haven't caught it in my latest blog, please do.

Oh however I served a great one last night

The Bloody Berry ( I hate bloody marys)

That looks like it might just work. Though truthfully I was almost raised on Bloody Marys so those hit the spot as well. Of course the Bloody Mary is properly a breakfast drink so it's most appropriate only to extended benders on which I haven't really been in quite some time.

Yes! The Inverse Ninja Effect. They were in Kill Bill. They filled the restaurant and got sliced up by the heroine. Just like River after she heard the subliminal message.

Also used in Spaghetti Westerns. The Inverse Outlaw Effect.
