Ahh, well that explains it. It's not showing up in the top 40 because the top 40 script doesn't have a week's worth of data for it, and whatever dropped out (Cleo?) isn't showing up in the noms because the noms script doesn't have a week's worth of *noms* data for it.

well, yeah - no one is keeping track of my hours, though - or yelling at me if I don't get something done - so it's a trade-off. Plus we have an enormous (well, for me!) 9 acres with many gardens so there's a lot to do. I was just thinking yesterday that I have no earthy idea how it all got done when I was working full time. Delayed VOMP of explanation!

First of all, many thanks to the folks who were concerned about me. From the outside, lookin' in, I might've been hit by a bus, abducted by aliens, conscientiously objecting to TV Vote...

As it was, while my computer tech (my brother, Bill) was out of state, the missus' PC decided to stop powering up. As Bill had not yet completed the .5 terabyte HD transplant on my Mac, that left us high and dry. Well, I went to the place in town my bro recommended, and they confirmed (after two tries, which cost me nothing but time waiting in line) that the problem wasn't internal to the machine, but an external power issue, probably a bad port in the power strip. Made sense, so I tried the other ports; no joy.

After much stressing and some experimentation (keeping in mind that I am semi-illiterate where computers are concerned), I determined that the back-up battery simply needed a reset. Bang! The spottycat is back online!

So, I missed two days of votey goodness. FlatTop, could you possibly email me the raws (Top 40 and Noms) from Monday and Tuesday?

I would like to keep my records complete, and have something on which to base current stats, thanks!

It's SO good to be back! Aside from my first vote, this is where I came first, 'cause I was jonesin' for a vomp fix!

Based on RL's announcement that he will end the Polls when the combined total votes between the Top 40 and the Nominations reaches 10 million (but no later than January 2, 2009), 71.8 (85.68) days remain to vote, based on current rates of voting (as with everything else in this Poll, this time will fluctuate). If we can average 1,000 Firefly votes/day, we can reach 750,000, three-quarters of a million votes! Let's shoot for that as a meaningful goal, and keep the daily average up!
