Anybody see 300 ?

Awesome flick. It's a man's movie. But what woman would not love the end where Butler is hailed with arrows and his last words are of the queen. I liked the big giant fag as king. "Will fight in the shade". A dude at work has his dodge pickup tricked out in sparta colors. It was really tops watching it on the big screen.

"Battle of Serenity, Mal. Besides Zoe here, how many-" "I'm talkin at you! How many men in your platoon came out of their alive".

I loved this movie - saw it opening night the theatre was packed and everyone's reaction was truly amazing. As a matter of fact I feel sorry for those that didn't see it on the big movie screen, but I digress.

Visually stunning, sometimes hokey (I think intentionally so) and the fight scenes were wonderfully choreograpghed. Gerard Butler made for a very cool king and had great screen presence. Lena Heady had me saying who's this actress, she was equally as impressive as GB, and I believe she got the role in SCC because of her solid perf in 300.

Flattop is right about the Spartans poweress as warriors the secret to their success was their fighting style. What was also true was that the Spartans would raise certain young boys to become warriors from the age of 7. It was a part of the society.

Great movie!!!

Those 6 packs were real. The actors all had gobs of physical training, both for the skimpy style clothing to show off the abs, and also to weild the weapons believably. There were gobs of Articles in training magazines about the routines they all had to do. One of the reasons so few heavy actors were willing to partake in the film.

Greek/Spartan King Leonidas with the Scottish accent? Almost funny, but he pulled it off - for American audiences. But do mediteranian or British audiences think it believeable?

With Transformers, hard to decide which was the best film of last year.
A Pity they aren't making the sequel.

The biggest delay was the year of SFX after all principle filming was complete.
Already fan of Lena, and that David dude from LotR, but all did well.

Well, I enjoyed it. And not just the muscles.

The bit that creeped me out was the oracle. But yay to the queen for gutting the treacherous rapist- bastard!

Judging by the responses on this thread, I'd say that 300 was extremely well received by Firefly fans. Why can't we like anything that is actually popular?

With the 8th best opening weekend of 2007 (and even before Memorial Day), and the 10th Best Box Office of the entire year 2007, not sure how this is considered "not popular".
