Ah; the what you do is reply w/ quote to him and copy the hex code he's using.
Hex code is like this- #008C7A, #FFB401, etc. Here's an explanation of how hex code works- http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutorials/colors/article.php/3478951, he gets kinda condescending, but that's basically how they work.

I didn't get the job 
I'm just waiting on the 'feedback' phonecall now. I hate having to ask someone why you're not good enough. A very painful process but one I'm always being nagged to go through.

Yeah it is a bummer but the feedback is a real help in knowing what you need to work on.
The other thing to bear in mind is that you never really know the culture of a school is unless you've worked there so it's hard to always pitch you interview right. Don't think just cause that you didn't get the job that it's cause you're not good enough, they could very easily just be looking for something slightly different.
*steps back and realises that his sister and other half have spent too much time trying to get jobs in schools recently*
