The dvd is being released July 29. I remember that I didn`t love the series but it was quirky and I liked it. I am not sure it is worth buying or not. Any opinions out there?

Never saw it, but TV.com rates it as being pretty good, sometimes excellent, and customers on Amazon seem pretty psyched. My advice, $45 for two short seasons ain't a bad price- if ya like the premise, go for it. Personally, I wanna hear that the fight scenes are spectacular- if so, I might give it a try myself.

Plus I see on AICN ( www.aintitcool.com) that they are going to be making a new movie or something for Witchblade. I watched some of that TV show, and thought it was okay. It was always trying to be dark and brewdy, and took itself way to seriously for my liking. Got to have a bit of comic relief, must be why I like 'Firefly' and in general most of Joss Whedon's work, always making the funnies.

Well, I think the best thing Yancy Butler ever did was her first: Mann & Machine.
Here's my favorite part of the pilot episode:
Check out the nod to Blade Runner, when Samantha Eggar introduces the other members of the AI team: "Doctors Scott, Deckard, Ford and Hauer..."

Never really liked the show all that much, but I went to college with John Hensley, who was on the show, so I watched it for the sheer weirdness of watching someone I knew on a TV show.
"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him."

Always enjoyed watching Yancy butler in anything, so Witchblade was a regular treat.
I'm thinking it was velocity or vertical limt that I thought she did well in - airplane suspense movie, maybe I'm off.

From what I remember it was quirky, a little strange and I enjoyed it enough to make the effort to tune in every week. I was mildly annoyed but not devestated when it finished.
It's the sort of show I'd buy when it hit the cheap bins if I had the money to spare, but not at full price.

You're thinking of Drop Zone.

Watched it. Liked it. Then became disillusioned after the disappointing ending of season 1 or season 2. Don't remember which. It has been awhile. Guess if I described the disappointment it would be a spoiler so I won't.
May have been on the losing side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.
