Ok I can say Magda is doing very well...and I am so jealous. Picture the most beautiful british farm you've ever seen in the midst of spring and there you have it....

I passed the theory :D. I got 48/50 for the multiple choice and 62/77 for the hazard perception. I'm nowhere near ready for the practical yet

I read last week that they're suppsoed to be changing the driving test so that you have to drive around without the invigialtor telling you where to go.

That's a great idea. Giving a girl with no sense of direction free rein in a car. I'll start off in Hartlepool and end up in London, lol

without going into details, someone in my other half's family passed away and she found at work because of the daft hours teachers work so I couldn't do anything to comfort her this morning and obviously bummed.

so I know from my following of American sports and from FLT's reaction that making the dean's list is good but what the hell does it mean? It's like, this grade average of 3-4, don't get that either.

Dean's list: A list of students of high scholastic standing, compiled by a college or university usually at the end of each semester or academic year. Similar to honor roll.

And as far as GPAs go: An A = 4, B= 3, C = 2, etc. So a 3.7 is a high B average.

Try taking valerian tablets, that will help you sleep. Plus, no side effects. Though keep a big glass of water by the bed, it can make you thirsty.

And the keeping awake? - try something herbal, rather than coffee, 'cos that only exacerbates the problem when you get the caffeine crash.

Also, getting off to sleep, make sure you aren't too hungry when you go to bed. That won't help. The really trite method of a glass of milk and couple of biscuits is actually pretty effective.

(yeah, I go through phases of not sleeping and climbing the walls...)

And the spiders...go armed with either a large glass and a card (humane) or a shoe (not so much)

I'm so sorry Zero. SpaceAnJL gave some good advice. I find if a remedy dosn't work staying up all night (and no naps during the day) usualy does the trick. It's hard to do but it resets your sleep clock and you'll be tired enough to sleep the next night.

Could definitely do with a drink, and somewhere peaceful to sit. Husband is halfway through tiling the new kitchen floor, and while it looks fab, it means we still can't put the damn cabinets in yet - probably another week without a kitchen to go...

Gee, that sounds like a good plan. You keep bugging me about getting back to my writing, and I'll bug you about your book. :) Oh yeah, and we'll drink.

ANJL, I dabbled in writing fanfic when I first got on this site. I have one post-BDM fic that isn't quite halfway done from the way I planned it, and a shorter story that actually fits between The Train Job and Bushwacked, based on some comments by Inara, that is complete except for the naked beach epilogue. I also wrote 3 ultra smutty one-shots, a Jaynara, a Rilee, and a Silee. They were in the BSR, but most of the pieces got erased when that Chinese scripting issue hit a while ago, and I never bothered to re-post them. I can send them or post them if you're interested.

Done deal Jimi, for the record, I am two thirds of the way through the second third of my book (that's 0.555555555... or just over half way)

Considering that I wrote the first in about 18 months and it was no good, 7 years for half a book is fairly lame lol
