heart of gold for one - is an episode that has always made me wonder, what and then all went home and went to bed? i don't think so .
a lot of loose ends after serenity leaves and burgess is dead.

just wondering - are there any other episodes that bother you in the same way? Leave a 'And then what?' hanging in the air.

i aint real sequel minded - but nonetheless...

to a certain degree there are loose ends in every episode, some more some less.
although for me, i guess war stories is the most intriguing. Niska gets away, doesn't he? Would he have come after Mal again, had the series continued? I wonder. unlikely for him to let the successful attack on his skyplex go unanswered. bad for his reputation.
would saffron have made yet another return? why does book leave the crew? and with book it's more the loose ends (or rather beginnings) in his past that are so interesting.
would atherton have tried to get back at Mal and Inara in some way?

I'd like to know what happens after The Message. The crew is gellin' like a felon.

i wouldn't mind seeing saffron again. i think mal just wanted to get naked.

that's why i never kiss em on the mouth

Since every episode had a few loose ends which I would love to see resolved [insert obligatory Fox bashing comment here]. the better question for me would be what plot points would I NOT like to see followed through.

Hmmm...I'm thinking...

Didn't really care for Stitch but since he's dead, I guess it's a moot point.

Yep, I guess that's about it!

The big one is do Mal and Inara get together or don't they? And if the do get together, do they stay together?

If they do get together, they almost certainly don't stay together, historically, Joss doesn't let relationships last.

"Haha, mine is an evil laugh."

Considering that the Commentary to Serenity-the-Pilot zooms in on the Blue Sun logo and says how hugely important Blue Sun is, I'd like to have, well, seen something about it in the actual show.

And parents are constantly saying things they don't mean--I'd like to find out if Gabriel Tam really would refuse to help Simon ever again; for all we know, he and Regan have no idea what's happened to either of their children.

Some of these questions are hinted at again--or even answered outright--in the Serenity comics. If you haven't checked out THOSE LEFT BEHIND and BETTER DAYS, do it now! (Of course, they also raise some questions of their own...)

As for the return of Niska, I'm not sure if Whedon himself had an answer on that. The exchange between Mal and Inara indicating that Mal let him live is a late addition to WAR STORIES (at least it's not in the script), which makes me wonder if Niska's survival was a last minute decision to keep their options open.

Speaking on a more personal (and non-Whedon) front, our virtual series at www.stillflying.net has addressed many of these questions, trying to be as faithful to Joss's vision as possible. If you haven't checked us out, you might want to consider it. We've got more than 20 episode-length scripts waiting for you!
