I just got this movie, I'll watch it tonight. Thought I'd start this thread early & deposit my review tomorrow.
I liked Underworld, though I felt it was a little Uber-serious (Sorry- Buffy fan here), however, I'm not a fan of the dangling ending thing, so I'm lookin' forward to this flick resolving some stuff...
we'll see...

Got bit Chrisisall

I wasn't into it. Best thing about both films was when Kate Beckinsale fires two machine guns into the ground and drops through the floor!

This one at the start looks great, with some nice imagery, but by the middle of it the environments feel just too fake and out of place. The colours are too strong and the lighting 'hyper' real leaving the characters somewhat out of visual sync.

It has no story.

The first movie was okay, but the second was so convoluted, it was hard to make sense of.

On the other hand, the sex scene was just humorous.

The second one just didn't have a plot. And the imagery isn't that great either. And it's too different, it doesn't feel like a sequel, it feels like another stand-alone. The first was fine, but the second one... just bleah.

Maybe in my mind I'm just comparing it to Van Helsing or something, but I liked it. It didn't have the fluid pace of the first one, but at least it had an ending. It was on sale for $5 at Bestbuy- Imma keep it.
And I liked that so much was going on I had to pay some attention.

It was cool Chrisisall

Yeah, the first was definitely the better of the two, and both were better than Van Helsing.
And it had a couple of 'English Roses' in there which is always a plus for me.
And Bill Nighy who is always worth watching.

And what's $5 for a movie? Almost nothing.

Yikes! Vamp-Lycan comedy sex? Worse?
Were they able to include the whips from the
first movie?

I just replayed the first movie because all during Batman Begins (which I just got) I was having Shane Brolly flashbacks every time Batman spoke with his mask on. Really thought I was losing my mind but nope -- there's a strong resemblance. Put your hand over the Brolly face and imagine a Batmask. The Batvoice even changes.

I mean in particular the way they filmed it. It looks like he's humping her belly button.

I liked it, but like the others, I didn't think it was as good as the first movie.

I drew a fair amount of comparisons to Van Helsing (which I liked by the way),as well as League of Extrodinary Gentlemen and Hellboy, (both of which I liked as well). But then I'm a big 'B' movie fan. I haven't seen Brothers Grimm yet, but it seems in the same vein... sorry, bad pun

What I did like about Evolution was the history. LOVED the history!

Not a big Buffy fan here... well ok, not at all.
