At least we all know what the cast of Firefly is capable of. It breaks my heart when I see them appear on TV in parts that don't do them any justice, supporting actors that have no ability. Eg. poor Gena in "Standoff" The two leads in that are excruciating to watch..I actually chipped a tooth during the second and last episode of the show that I let myself watch. I was grinding my teeth with frustration. I actually do watch Desperate Housewives...they are all so effortlessly flawed, and even though I alternatively wince at and am amused at their antics. Alan Tudyk seems to have done alright since Firefly/Serenity. His part in CSI as an evil Pedophile was chillingly effective, and more of my friends have gotten into Firefly because they thought he was so good in Death at a Funeral. Also managed to rope some male friends into the verse due to their appreciation of Summer, in the sarah Connor Chronicles...so again the crappy TV is not all bad if it promotes a wider appreciation of Firefly...it may have to come back, as it's becoming better loved globally.

Sounds like his movie 'The Water's Edge' which was meant to be a drama but really turned out to be more of a comedy.

In that movie he plays a writer as well and ends up solving a mystery while killing half the people in town.

The fight scene at the end of the movie has to be seen to be believed, its positively idiotic. Still I enjoyed Nathan's acting and he is main character in that movie.

Plus he does get shot in the arm just like in Serenity the Pilot episode.

Never got up the courage to watch Water's Edge.
The new film, Trucker, is said to have some
pretty good Nathan at the end. (I've already
been to whedonesque this evening)

Aw, you should watch The Water's Edge. It is fun. Definitely, not to be taken seriously. But Nathan is so darn attractive!!

May have been on the losing side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I JUST watched the Water's Edge last night! Weird...he was good, the rest was...okay. Heh. Anyway, can't wait to see him and Alan in these new shows (though I was secretly hoping that they'd be in one together. )

Well, I don't promise fun like Slither. It is just kind of a silly "evil small town" thriller in which Nathan steals the show with his acting and (OK, I'll just say it) sexiness.

May have been on the losing side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.
