Yay! First post! Anyway, on with the news:

"Firefly vet Nathan Fillion has been cast in the new ABC dramedy Castle to play a mystery author who helps the NYPD solve crimes. Fillion also recurs on Desperate Housewives and starred in the short-lived Drive."

Sounds intriguing, and I think since Fillion is good at both the drama and the comedy, a dramedy suits him well.

The TV.com page for Castle has the synopsis:
"ABC Studios and Beacon television are producing this police drama in which the NYPD's homicide department is helped out by a writer of horror novels."

Certainly sounds interesting, but I suppose only time will tell if it has a good enough twist over all the other police dramas...

I'm just glad to see Nathan back on the TV, since I don't watch Desperate Housewives.

What do we think?

edit: thanks yinyang, I changed it to just the link.

I've never been huge on police dramas. I only watch a couple myself but I'll be giving this one a shot. Nate is a BDH and as such is an automatic must see. Or atleast try to see. I'm hoping they do more than just try for a standard Crime Drama with a twist and cast some great folks beside him.

It works better if you just post the link.

I'm betting the title for this at the pitch meeting was, "Murder He F***ing Wrote." Anyway it has the captain so I'm watchin'. Maybe it'll even be good.

While I'm always delighted to see old Browncoats getting work, I'd far rather that Nathan was cast in Serenity 2 or Firefly season 2.

I totally agree Wychcroft!

Also, as the BDH's get more jobs, it inevitably leads people to Firefly/Serenity. I've converted several people this way.

Wrong network sadly. Plus, forensic pathology not so funny. Funny being the medy part of dramedy.
