The Serenity - What do you think of the design?

From the pics we've seen so far of Serenity (and it's a bit hard to get a handle on the design) I have to say I'm a bit dissapointed. I'll reserve my judgement till I see a good pic of it, but it looks kind of... blah to me.

I like it. It looks a lot different than any other sci-fi space ship I've seen in American sci-fi. Is it true that part of the ship will move independently from the rest of the ship? I like that... maybe that'll explain the artificial gravity or something...
One thing: The special effects rendering of the Serenity from the side view is reminiscent of Power Rangers stuff. Not that that's a *terrible* thing... just a bit odd, I think.

Hmmm... yeah, I kinda noticed that as well. It did look sort of Power Rangers-ish. But I guess we've just seen a few still pics (it'll probably look different once it's in action), all I can really get a sense of is it's general shape. So while it doesn't SEEM to cut a paticularly dynamic figure, I'll wait till I see the thing properly.

I saw a real short clip of the ship "in action" and it really moves. The engine pods rotate and it looks like they may be used for steering. Of course, it's hard to tell from a 2 second clip.
Since they have a few months until the show is released, I'm expecting some post-production on the images. Perhaps that will get rid of the "Power Ranger" feel.

I think it's supposed look a little rough. These are the guys on the losing side remember?
Hi everyone by the way

Rough I'm all for. Fakey plastic looking video game graphics like Andromeda - not so much. Guess we'll see. I hope they can keep the production values up, but it is just icing on the cake. Buffy has some rather silly looking SFX sometimes and I don't care (like the purple lightning rays Willow subdued Anya, Xander, Buffy, etc in the penultimate episode of this season)

I like it. Is that simple. The western/science fiction mix of it works for me.
It has that rough "been in and out of bad situations" kinda feeling. I see it and think off all the stories behind it, past present and future.
IMO Serenity rocks.
PS: how do you put on the emoticons? Newbie silly me.

I like the design. Hopefully the ship will be dirty, breaking down all the time, maybe even have insects or something on board.
If these guys are on the losing side I'd hope the ship is in rough shape.
As long as they don't have to redirect the transducing modulator hypersphere through the transmogriphying noodleslugger every week.
