Possible nod to Firefly in Showtime's "Californication"

I've recently been watching shows fron Showtime (Weeds, Dexter, The Tudors, etc.), and a newer one is called "Californication" starring David Duchovny.

Cool, huh? Well, in the second or third episode, the main characters go to a party - an uncharacteristic thing for Duchovny's character. When his ex asked his new date how she got him to attend this "shindig," the new date responds, "Must be my feminine wiles..."

After those two things, one after the other...I couldn't believe this to be coincidence.

Do we have some browncoat screenwriters out there? If so...cool!

Weeds, Dexter and Californication...... all GREAT shows. Seems that Showtime is one of the few networks that actually has an eye for quality programing.

I just noticed that Showtime put Cali back up to OnDemand so I'll have to park my arse in front of the TV again and rewatch the 1st season. Don't know how I could have missed those lines the first time around but it will be fun to watch for others.

I saw CALIFORNICATION when it first aired, but don't remember that. It's probably more a coincidence, but if that was a direct FIREFLY reference, that's awesome.

I think what would be so incredibly cool is if Jewel were to guest on the show as one of Hank's women that he takes to bed. I mean, she's just as famous for kissing Duchovny when she was a kid on THE X-FILES as she is of playing Kaylee. So it would be a great bit of meta casting as well as a case of "that's so wrong it's right" to see her do a raunchy sex scene with David.
