Hi,

I am a new fan also. Hi everyone, i'm glad I found this community. :)

I have Angel/Buffy video sessions with some friends quite often, and last time one of them said to me - 'you should watch Firefly'. I had heard of it but never found out much about it. That eventually prompted me to get hold of the series. So not knowing a thing about it, I started watching. I was curious to delve further into this series after just the first episode, and then promptly sat down and watched several episodes. I was intriuged by this diverse group of characters, and this world that they all live in - this is a really special series. (although i'm sure you all know that already!) ;-)

I have 2 episodes left to watch - certainly wish there were more, but the news about the movie is very good. :)

Michelle

Hi everyone,

I first heard about Firefly when it was advertised on the SciFi channel (UK), watched "Serenity" and "The Train Job" and was hooked, about seven episodes in I loved the show so much I looked it up on the NET only to find that it had been cancelled.

Ok, so I didn't really get all that blubbery, not 'til after "Objects In Space" when I knew that it really was the end (At that time there was only speculation about a movie). I felt exactly like you guys (And Gals!) have described, hollow, wanting more, addicted.

I'm now the proud owner of a brand new (region two) DVD box set. Just finished watching it again, and all the special features. I'm sad to say that I got a little emotional at the end, watching "Here's How It Was - The Making Of" documentary (Especially the part when they start talking about the musical score for "War Stories") and the Tour of Serenity, seems real sad to think that Joss must have film that before he knew the show was in trouble, poor bloke.

Aww well, guess we'll just have to wait til Serenity comes out next year to see some more.

(You should have seen the grin on my face when I heard that the other week, does the phrase "Cheshire Cat" ring any bells?!?)

Allan,

By the way, I've heard mention of "ff_fridays", I'm guessing thats in reference to the show being aired on a Friday? Can we have "ff_mondays" 'cos its when the show aired in the UK? Just askin'

Another new fan here!

I got my R2UK DVD box set April 26 and I've watched the show two times since then *and* listened to all the commentaries, watched the extras et cetera.

I just posted this on another MB: I suddenly understand how Jehovah's Witnesses feel! I feel like ringing door bells and instead of offering a copy of the Watch Tower I will smile and hold up a Firefly DVD box set and say: "Have you seen this TV show?"

Well, that won't happen, but I will try to convert one of my best friends whom I have spent many a "Buffynight" with watching the Buffy/Angel eps that haven't been aired here yet. It will be difficult to part from my box set for a couple of weeks though, but I guess it must be done.

Hi, I just saw Firefly for the first time about 4 days ago when I got it on DVD. By the next evening I had watched every episode!
I was hooked less than halfway through Serenity.
Anyway, now I have decided to introduce it to everyone I know, although less than a third of these people seem like they would like it.

But hey, I don't particularly like Sci Fi, or Westerns.

I am a fan for life! Can't wait for the movie.

"My days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle."

Nahh I think it's cool. It let's old fans reminise (sp?) how we got into it.

For me? It was 2 yrs ago. I saw/heard the ads for Joss's new show Firefly. Watched it for the sake of anything Joss (and for a man named Jayne ^-^ ). I seriously thought the show was boring at first during watching "Train Job" but kept watching because I have faith in Joss (And knew there would be more to what I was seeing)

That was the only FULL episode I watched. "Out of Gas" is a close second, but I couldn't watch it all due to a bad attenae reception. :P
Waiting patiently, the DVDs came out (like I suspected they would) and bought it without the guarantee of knowing I'd like it besides Out Of Gas which I really did like.
I was wowed and by the time I got to the next disc or so, I got all Firefly rabid like I am today.

The End
