Overall, we had a good day in our neighborhood, while poor ol' Fred didn't have such a good day with no Noms.
Today, we should easily take down Drive. Not only that but since you voted so well yesterday, we should also be able to take down the show after that Tour Of Duty. We need 134 to pass both, however since they added a new high to their average yestarday, we'd better expect that today.

Tex - If you read this, know that I read your questions about Surface and Nim yesterday and I'm trying to figure out how to tell you about it, without too many spoilers.
What I can say is that if you like quality programming (like Firefly, of course) you would not be disappointed. Quite literally, everybody I have loaned my DVD to has become a fan.

The Xenites allegedly set up a massive vote-bot network to flood the poll, much to the annoyance of the folks who were voting manually. Funny, it was all over the Cortex; now I can't seem to find it.
As it is, Xena is our benchmark, on TV Vote (who else we gonna compete with?) Might not have cared for the program, but, they're fans of their show, just like we are, of ours. They also have Browncoats among 'em, and, we show 'em our respect

Jericho got 1,010 votes on the occasion of the final episode of their show. They still manage a healthy daily score, but, fortunately for us, they have a gorram long way to go to get into even the Top 5, let alone threaten Firefly. I keep my eye on 'em, but, we still pull in more daily votes, which means that we still put more of the black between us and everyone else, each day.

FT, Ray, and anyone else following along - Being fairly new here, I can't speak about your history with the Xena fans, although Ray is obviously aware of it intimately.
It was on a different voting poll though, not People, I just can't recall the name. I'll look it up though.
Anyway, it's way too long a story to relate here, but the 25 cent version is that when we were at the height of fan support for Surface, I organized dozens of people into day and night crews, and formed an alliance (sorry) with the folks from Lost who were leading the poll (being at the height of it's popularity), much like the one I have with you guys but with a lot more people. Anyway, the Xenites were obviously running bot programs and would ring up thousands of votes in a few hours. Eventually, we resorted to having to play that game ourselves to try to keep up, but it was too late, and they were too organized, so they eventually beat both of our shows. They were pretty much openly bragging about this on the chat portion of the poll.
I have detested them since. That's the main reason, I get really upset when people suggest we play those kind of games with this poll. It means so much more when it's an honest competition. Don't you agree?

Yesterday we got 174 Nominations. A big improvement from the previous day. We took down both target shows handily and have set ourselves up nicely for the next few days. We must keep up the momentum though. You will see at the top of the target list that Torchwood got 62 Noms. That's just under their average, which means we are gaining on them but only at slightly over 100 Noms per day. Here's the good news. I have been tracking all the shows up to Maverick, and they are the only show that gets those kinda numbers. Most shows get around 40, which is why I am especially proud of you guys. Great job.
