Just wondering why is it taking so long for somebody to pick up firelfy! i don't really understand why it was canclled. As far as i know it was just the network that didn't like it. Maybe not on fox but WB or UPN what the hell?where is " Save Firefly"?sorry just had to get that off my chest, i was looking at the Amazon reviews and stuff. just got my blood boiling. I am getting firefly withdraw. i need more. I know there are buffy comics. NO Word on Angle or firefly comics?

There were Angel comics. About 16 or so from Season 1. Like Buffy it got cancelled X___X So there's a count of 63 for Buffy plus one shots. But alas, there's Tales of the Slayer...though it's unsure if it'll last more than it's 5 comic shot.

Firefly in comics is a last resort for me. I don't think it ever will unless the popularity grows and there's possible stories for it. It might be more believable maybe or elaborate on things that the show might not be able to elaborate.

You have got to remember that Firefly was cancelled back in 2002. At the time there was a 'save Firefly' campaign. As usual it fell on deaf ears, though it at least let the cast and crew know they were loved.

In a way the campaign has continued by us browncoats addicting as many people as possible to the show. This has led to the high dvd sales, which in turn helped Universal agree to make the movie. Now we have to continue converting people and get them to see the movie so they will make more movies and, hopefully, eventually bring Firefly back to the tv.

I think the high production cost meant a lot of companies couldn't afford to pick it up and of course they are run by idiots who prefer reality tv. (please feel free to change 'idiots' to a suitable swear word)

Edit - plus Fox still seem determined to destroy the show, see my Blackpool shindig thread for news on why Firefly won't return to tv anytime soon.

There's also 'Fray', a graphic novel about a future slayer, some 500 years in the future or something (flying cars!) :)

Firefly is coming back as a movie in 2005 called 'Serenity'.

Also, 20th Century Fox did try to shop it to other networks like UPN and even Sci-Fi all of which didn't want it.

And there was a 'save Firefly campaign' but it didn't work.
