Jayne: AC/DC - hard, driving, sweaty. Key track, "Thunderstruck"

Kaylee: Debbie Harry - sweet but dirty too. Key track, "I Want that Man"

Inara: Sibelius - sophisticated, gorgeous sagas in musical form. Key track, Bernstein's recording of "The Swan of Tuonela"

Book: Jason and the Scorchers (you knew this was coming when you saw who started the thread) - a hard rocker with a devout faith. Key track, "Bible and a Gun" (or "Six Feet Underground" maybe? No. I thought not.)

Simon: Rod Stewart - has made middle of the road into an art form. Key track, "First Cut is the Deepest."

River: Mike Oldfield - a musical exorcist for the demons in her head. Key track, "Tubular Bells"
