A new fan!

I am whole heartedly a new fan of the Firefly universe. A friend of mine was discussing his love for the movie Serenity with me and informed me it was the series first. I had seen neither. So, I suppose being somewhat intuitive I figured that I should see the series first. I downloaded some episodes on Xbox LIVE (The first five I believe). I enjoyed it so much that I bought the DVD set and Serenity Collectors Edition. I have just finished watching all of the above and I must say I'm astounded. I think it's easily the best sci-fi I've ever seen.. With it's rich story lines, character progression and on top of it all.. Heart.. I definitely understand the reason why it has such a cult following. The one thing I take to be very disheartening is Wash's situation (Trying to keep it non-spoilerish)... He's my favorite character.

Even now, 5 years after I first laid eyes on Firefly, I can still feel the power of the purity of the verse. Each new browncoat who joins our brotherhood renews my hope that one day, this show will rise again in a new incarnation.

Welcome, welcome - can I call you Urd?...glad to have you aboard the best site in the 'verse! I'm also a late-comer, just coming up on two years since I found Firefly and it was through the film "Serenity" on cable. It seems we get new people finding their way here each week and we're glad to have the 'verse 'expanding.' Take some time to look around, post often and get involved; we need you!
