Yeah, I'm looking forward to this one (coming out a year from yesterday!) and the background pics at the Warner Brothers site look really good too!
But to be honest, the comic itself is SO good that I'm afraid any adaptation will be ultimately disappointing. I'm going to be hopeful, and will go see it when it comes out. But I'm not gushing.

Dark.. i know what you mean.. it was such a great series - some things don't always translate to film
And I don't know that much about the director, Zach Snyder. What has he done besides 300... wasn't he in one of the Dead movies..... dawn of, night of, sunday dinner of... or something?

so go in expecting it to not be as good, try to seperate them, if you compare starship troopers movie and book well you know how much the movie sucked but as different entities the movies all right.

I didn't say i expect the movie to be bad - just that sometimes a screenwriter and an author don't necessarily see eye to eye - for those who love a good book or comic, graphic novel, etc., the imagery is in our heads - the screenwriter tries to translate that vision for a mass audience - those who have read the book it was based and those who have not.
I agree that a movie based on a popular book is, more or less, a separate entity, but for those who have an idea of what the book was all about in the first place, a lousy screenplay can totally ruin the way the reader sees the authors vision.
