Pity the best get the worst treatment. I mean what does Deal or No Deal have? Red Dwarf has good writing, good acting, a mouthful of meaty genre comedy and a total hoot to watch. No ratings though. Does this say something about the Great Wasteland or what?
Going to bed full of good ranting.
Dead or no Deal has showgirls and money, and, the illusion that you can get rich quick while basking in your 15 minutes of fame. Dead on about the Great Wasteland, Freebrowncoat.
Oooh... Donuts! Thanks, Jstn!
Manual mornin' stats BOMP!

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble getting into the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. I recommend bookmarking them all, for rapid transition, if you have trouble voting.
You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

Voting efficiently (i.e., with minimal time between votes, over the requisite 60 minutes) is crucial to maximizing your voting power. Download FlyVote by FlyVote (a fellow Browncoat voter, so, you know the program is good!). It'll remind you when it's time to vote, each hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc
Top two shows as of this morning:
(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)
Total votes Firefly: 574,270 (573,276)
Total votes Xena: 468,924 (468,122)
Yesterday, Browncoats voted 994 times (980). Pretty poor showing, for mid-week ='[.]'=.
Yesterday, Xenites voted 802 times (707). Huh, what, now? Either the Xenites are getting an early start for Lucy Lawless' birthday, next month, or, they have decided to challenge us, again. Either way, we can't be havin' them within 200 votes of our daily total. That's just humiliatin'.
(Xenites voted 192 (273) times less than Browncoats, yesterday.
Yesterday, Browncoat votes rose by 14; Xenite votes rose by 95.
Firefly is 105,346 (105,154) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #24 show Star Trek: The Original Series 105,118. That puts us at 19,654 (19,846) votes away from a 125k vote lead, about 102.36 (72.70) days! We need to widen our daily vote advantage, Browncoats, if we want to meaningfully increase our lead!
Our next, big goal, 575,000 votes, is 730 (1,724) votes, and, .73 (1.76) days away. We'll hit that mark tomorrow!
6,116,572 (6,103,806) votes have been counted as of 02/29/08. Yesterday, 12,766 (12,745) votes were cast. In order to take ownership of 10% of all votes cast in that period, we needed to vote 1,277 (1,275) times, of which we fell short by 283 votes. Our share fell to 9.3887562% (9.392108%) of all votes ever cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

#7 show Buffy got 550 (546) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 340 (360) votes, yesterday, in 99.11 (113.03) days. You have nothing to apologize for, Sister; you are a stalwart vumper from way back... VOMP!
I just wonder where all the other folks have gone? SAB39, Rallem... These threads used to be thick with folks, and, even I'm a tad sheepish I don't bump the thread more often than I do. But, I think there's a more serious issue, here, and, that is, complacency. Our numbers have been on a steady decline since last summer; I've done my best to encourage folks to help out, including the other Whedonverse voters, BSG Colonials, and the Vampire Flans, but, we can't count on them being more than supplemental to the core Firefly voters, and, I don't like to think about where we'd be without their help.
Even Jstn's Surface Nominations voters can only go so far to help us (for which I am very grateful!), but, we need to get our mojo back. I'm hoping that this challenge from Xena doesn't go unanswered. Mebbe it'll be what we've needed to rally the troops.
Time will tell.
