My tape ran out in the couple last minutes of Angel, cutting off where Gunn is arguing with the demons and Hamilton is trying to calm them down. If anyone can let me know what happened after that, be really grateful!

Spoilers, obviously, if you haven't seen the episode.
Select to view spoiler:
The short version is Angel came out from the elevator, said the baby was theirs, Gunn argued that there was nothing on paper, then Angel headed off to his office with the three demons.
(paraphrased)
Gunn: "What are you doing?"
Angel: "What we're supposed to, serving our clients."
*shuts door, end episode*

You missed it?! Oh double drat...
In the closing minutes of the ep, Angel realized (after hearing Illyria's chiding on how a leader wins) that he must forgo his usual trappings of "morality". So in order to establish a more direct connection with the Senior Partners, Angel made love with Hamilton on the sofa...

Yes, what Slowsmurf said.
As Illyria said (and this isn't a spoiler, cuz it's just dialogue), "Serve no master but your own ambition. That is how your reign will last forever." (paraphrased)
Tonight's ep kinda freaked me out, anyway. Edlund writes weird-- his episodes are always too much information to process in too short a time. Awesome, but quick.
Particularly what happened at the 45-minute mark. Holy JESUS.

Tell me about it. I was watching, and it cut to commercials, and I just sort of sat in stunned silence. That that sort of thing could happen in roughly 1.5 seconds was sort of gut-wrnching, you know?

"Once, just once, I'd like to be able to land someplace and say, 'Behold, I am the Archangel Gabriel.'"
"I fail to see the humor in that situation, Doctor."
"Naturally. You could hardly claim to be an angel with those pointed ears, Mister Spock. But say you landed someplace with a pitchfork . . ."

Hey all,
I just joined this group after watching the boards for a few days, and It's truly an honour to be a part of such a dedicated group of fans. But hey on to the question. I might be reading too much into what transpired, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong (lot of information in a short period of time as another post said). It seemed that Angel had picked up on the fear that the senior partners have of the Old One as was concealed poorly by Hamilton in his earlier conversation with Angel. Add to this Wes saying that the weapon drained the power from her (drained? possibly stored somewhere?) and Angel's comment that she "might make the team yet." This in my skewed perception add up to Angel has a plan to take out the Senior Partners and is presenting the image of himself playing nice (or playing evil in the case of Wolfram and Hart) until he gets his chance to use the Old One against them. Oh well, just an opinion.

I am completely unspoiled (and determined to stay that way until the end), but I completely agree with your theory:
I adore Ben Edlund's writing, and he does blow my mind (I was so freaked when he dusted Spike, but then when EVERYONE was killed, including the beheading of Angel, I just cracked up...rolling on the floor laughing!)
Anway, I was shocked at 'sacrificing the baby' until I realized that the kid is safe for 13 years, so it isn't like Angel doesn't have time to 'play along' and still save the kid later....

what really happens is.. Hamillton tells the demons that it is Angles area then Angle walks up and tells the demons to follw him and they go to the room where the lady is at then Gun Ask what are you doing. Angle (To be last in the room)looks at Hamilton and Says' "Serving our clients" with a wired but kinda cool facial expression then walks in and closes the door.
