Have you heard of a Lemon Drop?

Lemon Drop

1 ounce Vodka (Citrus-flavored)
1 ounce Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon Sugar
Shake with ice, then strain into a shot glass rimmed with sugar. Substitute sweet & sour mix for the lemon juice and sugar if fresh lemon juice is not available.

The Bastard Fairies make twisted pop for twisted people. Fantastic stuff. The lead singer Yellow Thunder Woman is a Native from the Dakotas who is a sibling of the band Indigenous, a famous Native blues/rock band. I ain't much for pop but there is some definite twisty stuffs involved with their music. Here's a video addressing Bill O'reilly that is very cute and informative.

And this song is one of my favorites by them. Very strange but We're All Going To Hell now ain't we.

Went in today, did the one thing I absolutely had to do, then decided that no... the stomach cramps and hot flashes from the antibiotic were too much when coupled with fatigue and difficulty breathing, so I went home sick after half an hour.
I am having much guiltage over leaving them stuck out a nurse, but the four hour nap I just took makes me feel a little better about my decision. We won't discuss what else has been going on with my gut as it's not fit for polite company.

Someday they'll thank me for this...

Oh noes! DTHippie has given me the dreaded croaky lurgy over tinternet! I can feel that ominous tickle that tells me that my external observation (ie judgement from on high!) on Wednesday is bound to hit me mid croak!

Oh well. I'll have to just mime really well.

Talking of which, one of my students has put a video up of my teaching on You Tube. This is not flattering. She did it to laugh at my bumblebee dance. If I had known, or for example given my permission, I would have put more wiggle into it! I went over to the the med center this morning. I've been having some annoying little back pains lately, and I wanted to know what could be done about it. 'Turns out I somehow managed to chip one of my vertebraes. Doc said he didn't know if that's what's causing the pain, but he said it could eventually result in damage to my spinal cord. He prescribed me some anti-inflamatories and said that I probably wouldn't need surgery or anything 'cause it's been discovered before any real damage could be done, but I'm a little freaked out still.

No wonder I'm getting ill, it's freezing cold in the mornings here and the boiler is broken. Cold washes and sore throats don't mix!
Plus all my animals are also dropping like flies. We had to have a horse put down at the weekend and I've just paid a lot of money to get a thorn removed from my kitten's paw. He's crying under the desk at the moment telling me off for working when I should be playing by batting me impatiently on the foot! Very cute.

Try starting the day as if it were already done with. It makes the difficult things easier to da and the easy things almost enjoyable. I know what you mean. There is always the bad things revolving around us that we can easily revert to again. Old girlfriends, adrenaline filled thrill seeking, smoking, I think about them. But it has been too hard a fight to get this far. I'll be damned (literally) if I get back to those things. You have the idea. Step back, take a breath, and observe rather than formulate or ponder. Once you see clearly the things you have to do or need to avoid to stay healthy you have a better chance at staying the course.

Mob- wow that sounds really frustrating. How did you get yourself away from your old ways in the first place? Maybe you can find new ways to feel in control like organizing things or making lists of stuff that needs to happen and how long each will take and then schedule it? That always makes me feel more like I am in control. I am really impressed that you have recognized your bad patterns and worked to change them. Well... Therapy, I guess. That, and a whole lot of thinking on my part. I know I can work this out. I did it before, I can do it again. I just need to be more careful about the way I organize my life. When I back myself into a corner like I did over the last few weeks, I can get desperate pretty quickly. I'll just have to think ahead a little more.

Free drinks for all, I staying up for a but nursemaiding system but of to play some guitar hero (I will complete hard [five songs left!] and then Expert [I've already cleared the first two gigs {really am a sad man!} but can't beat Morello yet grr] and then five star all songs including ridiculous Dragonforce song!) III.

Ah well, got a little maths done tonight but gonna have to blitz over the next few days to catch up.

Mob, I meant to, not ta (friggen thick finger type-age sucks). Basically I start the day like anything that happens that day is already done. I'm already thinking about Wednesday while buttoning up the tasks of Tuesday. It offers a little distance to any problems but it also offers incentive for tomorrow.

The pretty pretty pictures did not copy, but I just thought I'd share the joy.
Went in early, stayed late, going in early again. The good news is that we're getting a new nurse on Thursday! So in about 6-8 weeks we may actually have someone who can carry some of the workload. Yay!
(Please note: I am actually happy about it, and quite serious. This one is replacing somebody who left in July.)
We'll see how many other nurses rotate out of the clinic in the next several months.

RIMG- that sounds probably yummy.

Here's a great long term project:
Take kirchwasser (cherry brandy) and steep a whole lot of sour cherries in it for three years. Pour off the liquid and press the cherries. Add sugar to that and bottle it. Age a further seven years.
July in a bottle. Serve in tiny wee glasses and be prepared to want to just sit there and smell it all day....

HUGS and NV...LOL well they deserved it:) Once again I am at the board attempting to show them how to find answers and yet again they are chatting, and goofing around despite numerous re-directs... part of the problem is ( and this is literal and not meant to be unkind) they are not very bright. The average IQ in that class is 72( which is 2 points above mild mental retardation)
