Who's your favorite character and why??

I love all the charaters but I have to say...
River is really interesting,
Wash is amazing, but his attidtued gets on my nerves,
Zoe's awesome,
Jayne is hi-larious, but really dumb.
Kaylee is really sweet,
but in the end my fave is.....

I have to say I love Jayne - he's a deeper, richer character than most people think, though he isn't the smartest guy on Serenity. Sends most of his earnings back home to his mother, is obviously shaken by the Reavers despite how strong he is, has a proven soul, noted when he doesn't understand the Mudder's hero-worship, and when he tells Mal not to tell the crew of Serenity what he did, and to make up a reason why he's dead. Jayne, despite his tendency to be a jerk and rude and pose as the bad guy, is actually a good guy deep down. Deep, deep down.

That said, I like the characters pretty much all the same; Kaylee is incredible in her talents and in her attitude, Book isn't what we said he is but still manages to say the proper things, Simon is really funny though he's got biting sarcasm, River is just amazing, Zoe is wonderwoman we just don't know it yet, Wash is just adorable, Inara is graceful and beautiful, and Mal, well, he's Mal! What else is there to say? Gotta love the whole bunch.

I like River the most because I can identify with her, being in roughly the same age group and being a bit of an oddball myself. But I like Jayne's meanness a lot... I mean "Not as deceiving as a low down dirty... deceiver!" Jayne had some of the best lines in the entire series!

I have to agree with Mei Mei about Jayne. There's a whole lot more to him than just swearin' and shootin'.

Still... I have to say Kaylee is my favorite. Not just because she's sweet. I just like Kaylee. I've been a fan of Jewel since I first saw her on Space Cases so there's that too. Also like how she dresses... her and Wash. I like coveralls and flightsuits and bright colors mixed with dark, dingy colors. I wear Hawaiian shirts and love dinosaurs and flying myself so Wash is definitely a very close second.

Mal, he's complex, an honorable man in a dishonorable profession, "a mean old man," leader of a very disfunctional "family", his plans don't always work, yet somehow they do and you just want to put him back together again.

I'll also have to add Inara and Shepard Book because they are both a bit mysterious and Jayne because he's got a lot more upstairs than he's given credit for.
