I nailed it! Yeah! 
But there's something else, some kind of magic I can't quite put my finger on. The show was just... I'd call it 'alive'.

if you compare star trek and firefly, they are on about the same time frame. but in firefly, people are still using toilet paper and duct tape. they wear regular streetclothes, they carry guns with bullets, not phasers. its like the real world right now, so its relateable, and the spaceships just make it seem that much more fun.
