oh dear lord @_@ i'm too young for this place.

had a funny day at school today. Astronomy lecture followed by astronomy lab. I seem to be one of very few (or the only one) who understands what's going on, and in the lab I was helping a bunch of other kids mapping stars' ascensions on the star globe (so cool, I want one). one of them said "can you please teach this class?" "yeah what year are you?" to which I of course replied "I'm a freshman." the collective response was "NUH-UH!!" XD the way they said it was so priceless, I had to chuckle a little.

Just thought I'd share.

Happy Gee, been home, spent an hour and half writing music then came home again and been happily working on tracks to put on compilation cds so other half's kids can get exposed to music other than classical and nursery rhymes in the classroom.

Was on my way to work when something happened that I have never experienced before;

THey activated teh Emergency Broadcast System and enformed everyone to stay off the roads.

Needless to say I turned myself around and headed for home.

Hope all in the area of this storm stay safe today.

Waaaa I want some kind of emergency warning that forces me to stay home.... oh that would be so lovely. My dad would build a fire and I could sleep and sleep ( though I did get decent sleep last night so I am not tired)and read books and talk on the phone... ok stopping now

Do feel loads better though... flu is starting to go away ( yes the irony that I refused a flu shot last week on the premise that I never get the flu has occurred to me)

Apparently we might have snow in the UK before the end of the week which might be fun if I wasn't working.

Talking of not working, I have my probationary review meeting tomorrow. There will be one of three outcomes. They'll either fire me, try to hire me permanently (and they better ask nicely!) or try to extend my reduced pay 'trial' period in which case I shall very politely tell them to stick their job! At this moment in time I am honestly not sure which of these options I would prefer! There would be a certain degree of relief to knowing I didn't have to come back here after half term! Anyway, vague and directionless wishes of luck would be most appreciated!

Thanks Avery I know you've always got my back girl.

Long story short I'm being denied coverage on something I desperately need medically. Apparently to get it covered I have to be in renal failure or have diabetes.

I'd love to have Vinny and Joey abduct one of them for me. Then I'd strap them to the chair so I can peel their skin off and pour lemon juice on the raw parts.

Don't think it would change much but it would make me feel better.

My local coffee shop ( Beans and Brews) has just added my little creation to the menu list. They called it " Almost Coffee" It's 75% steamed milk, 20% coffee and 5% flavor syrup ( sugarfree) and such.

Not my style, don't have the metabolism for putting on muscle mass so I simply too scrawny for that kind of thing!

Spent most of the day reading Dresden and watching Batman begins or trying to catch up on lost sleep.

Thanks to stick on heat patch I actually have movement now at least, think I twisted in a lift (bad form is a killer!). First ever injury from lifting so I guess I'll just have to be more careful.

Damn... ooh good idea though. A bullwhip would be fun. Just ranted on about the maturity issues my classes are facing... what self respecting 14 year old throws themselves on a dirty classroom floor and kicks and screams because you told them they couldn't have a hall pass??? Ok granted my kids are special ed, but not mentally challenged..( most are dyslexic or ADD or the like)

sure some of that's not muscle? ;) At the beginning of basic training i weighed 121, at the end i weighed 122, and seeing as how i looked as thin as a ghost and our TI hardly ever let us eat, I know it can't be fat i gained lol.

Ice cream sounds good though....even on a nasty cold rainy sleety day like this. I'm thinkin ben and jerry's reeses peanut butter cup. *ticks off on fingers* vanilla ice cream (or is it pb? it's been a while), reeses peanut butter cups, b&j quality goodness. cant miss. damn...now i really want some of that ruttin ice cream. *mouth watters*

I am pretty sure that some of it is muscle but I was not expecting that much... Figured I was still down.......

Not really a big deal though. Just funny. Never been able to gain weight ever and now I can. In the service I was the only one in my unit who actuallt liked MRS. I would eat between 4 and 6 a day in th efield and never gained an ounce.

I love the SG1 episode where Daniel and Samantha are sitting around a campfire eating MREs. Daniel is working on a mouthful of something and says perplexedly "This tastes like chicken."
Sam says something like "What's wrong with that?"
Daniel spoons some slurry out of the packet and lets it run in again for effect as he replies "It's macaroni and cheese."

I do like the shelf-stable Indian food you can get at the grocery store. Spicytasty! Your entire week's RDA for sodium in one sitting, too!

The weekend is upon us! Winter slurry/ice storm can now be ignored! Loooooong booooooring day at work. Which we don't usually get many of. I would have enjoyed it more if my ass hadn't been dragging around quite so much. No coffee in the place.

Hubster gets home tomorrow sometime. Yay!

We went out to Ruby Tuesday's yesterday. I was expecting more of a burger/wings menu and was very pleasantly surprised that the food was quite good and not gargantuan portioned.
OK, the chicken breast looked like half a side of beef or something, but it was cooked to perfection , the baby bellas and parmesan sauce were exactly right, the mashed taters were garlicy, the bread was whole grain, the broccoli was actually FRESH and steamed tender, and the coffee was strong and mellow. The waiter completely failed to hover, and yet remained attentive. I tipped heavily and requested that he pass my compliments along to the kitchen staff. (Paid in cashy money too, so's he'd *really* appreciate it!)
One of the best chain restaurants I've been to.

It must be Friday night 'cause I'm rambling onandonandonandon...

Just baked little blueberry tartlets. Graham mini-crusts piled high with frozen blueberries, sweetened condensed mild poured over it to sink in as it cooks. Bake until the purple-blue goo runneth over. (or just gets bubbly)

If you are lucky enough to be in a system that has online capability you don't even have to leave the house to request an interlibrary loan, they'll put you on the list and let you know when it's in at your local branch.

It's not the same as OWNING the book, which is better than chocolate, but if you're really jonesin' it will get you your next fix.
