Don't have time for a full response now; I'll get to it a little later. For now, be assured that I'm not suggesting any "segregation" in the community. I'll explain what I really meant later.
And for cripes sake, will I ever escape the bad guy label?

This is false, just for the record.
(Well, there was the instance where someone got snippy because a 'D*C' thread got 'off topic' but that someone was not me, and I was quick to point out that it wasn't an exclusively D*C thread, because it wasn't.)

I never called you a bad guy, I said you were being sulky. Will you escape the 'sulky guy' label? Well, that's up to you

I don't think that being cautiously ashamed, or selectively ashamed, or in any way ashamed of who I am is any way to live my life.

Well, there is some truth to that...

You are perfectly capable of starting a new thread yourself. PhoenixRose, the lovely and inspiring visage that she is, is not the sole keeper and creator of picture threads.
And, also, for fuck's sake, D*C is nearly 8 fucking months away! Why in the fucking fuck (over-use just for fun) do you have to suggest planning ahead for a picture that may or may not be taken and posted?!?
Please, people, you're going to make my head explode.

Am too!

Nah, I was going to say that nothing was stopping anyone from doing a 'sulking because we couldn't be at D*C' picture thread, but I thought that would be mean

You know... if you said that the D*C pictures took up a lot of space, and the posters who weren't there could get lost in the shuffle, you might have an argument. If you said that I had ever at any point stated that the post-con picture threads were for con pics only, you might have an argument. You'd also be a liar, as I never said any such thing and in fact tried to encourage everyone to post because that's what these threads are about. I'm not a fan of segregation. For that precise reason, I don't see the benefit of segrating the picture threads according to who was at D*C and who was not. I would encourage anyone who went to any kind of convention to post pictures of it here to share with us and the whole community. I know it rarely works that way, but I would still encourage it.
Still, you might have an argument, and I might consider it, if you were being less sulky about not being able to be there and not willfully excluding yourself from any conversation about it or posting of pictures in the same thread. Because that, my friend, is not my problem. I love having you here, I love having everyone here, and I wouldn't exclude anyone on the basis of DragonCon, and you know that. If a made two threads for those who went and those who didn't, it would just be a means of separating the community, and I won't do that.
As an aside, before I get rolling, I have to say--I'm not sure exactly what I said that was "sulky" exactly, unless of course, it's considered sulky to suggest that the picture threads are anything other than perfection itself. I'm not casting aspersions and I'm not moaning about how terrible everything is. If I were, then I'd understand the "sulky" thing. I in fact did feel pretty left behind by the conversation last time around. I didn't say anything about it then, because I figured the D*C phase would work itself out and we'd all return to business as usual. What I did was to suggest a possible course of action. Is that not OK?
I think that somehow I have offended you personally. I have no idea how I did that, but I regret that I did, because that was obviously not my intent.
You seem to have taking me as suggesting that there be some sort of alternate pic-posting community for D*Cers, and one for non-attendees. Believe me, that is not at all what I was suggesting. I was suggesting something along the lines of a sub-picture thread (like "Browncoats--To Arms!" or "Show off your Pets" or "Browncoat Ink." Now all three of those are specialized threads revolving around some particular facet of Browncoat life (and, in particular, cam companion life). But surely no one thinks those segregated the community into ink-having and non-ink-having Browncoats. Rather, we simply participated if we had ink (or weapons or pets) and didn't if we didn't have such things. Because the conversation tends to get pretty specific in there, and if you can't talk the talk, well, there's not much for you.
Now, my experience from D*C '07 was that there was a good string there were the threads were pretty absorbed with D*C issues--may not have been noticeable to anyone who attended D*C, cause you'd all have been in on the discussions. But that was my impression. I do know that there are others who felt that way, though I'm not naming names, just in case they want to steer clear of the controversy. Suffice it to say that I wasn't the only person that had that impression.
Now, in saying that I experienced a period of feeling pretty significantly left out of conversations, I'm not trying cast any blame on anybody. I certainly understand why y'all would want to talk at great length about such an experience. I have no quarrel with that at all. My only point was to suggest that such conversations be had in a dedicated sub-picture thread (like the ones we've had before). I'm certainly not suggesting any "segregating" of the community.

Keep with the F's like that and I might have the same problem. (Wanders senselessly between threads because his nerves are a little shot trying not to take in too much because he is a little on the jumpy took a nap and shouldn't have side)
Reading way too much into everything around me right now. Needs some relief and a drink.
Why the hell did I quit smoking?
