Mornin' manual stats VUMP!
Mornin', Browncoats!
http://richlabonte.net/tvvote
http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote
http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html
Top two shows as of this morning:
(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)
Total votes Firefly: 517,044 (515,984)
Total votes Xena: 443,051 (442,528)
Yesterday, Browncoats voted 1,060 times (832). Uber shiny!
Yesterday, Xenites voted 523 times (481).
(Xenites voted 537 (351) times less than Browncoats, yesterday.
Firefly is 73,933 (73,456) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #35 show The Simpsons, 68,730. That puts us at 26,067 votes away from a 100k vote lead, about 24.59 days!
Yesterday, Browncoat votes rose by 228, 27.4%; Xenite votes rose by 42, 8.73%.
Our next banner, for 520,000 votes, is 2,956 (4,016) votes, and, 2.79 (4.83) days away!
5,440,290 (5,428,057) votes have been counted as of 01/03/08. Yesterday, 12,233 (10,827) votes were cast. In order to take ownership of 10% of all votes cast yesterday, we needed to vote 1,224 (1,083) times, of which we fell short by 164 votes. Our share fell to 9.5039787% (9.5058696%) of all votes ever cast.
Yesterday, despite our vote recovery, our overall vote percentage fell, again. We are on the verge of losing our 10% slice of the voting pie! I like a big piece of pie! Get the votes in, Browncoats!
-Raycheetah =^[.]^=
In other TV Vote news:
Buffy got 471 (373) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is not currently receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Battlestar Galactica, which received 538 (434) votes, yesterday.
Battlestar Galactica is set to overtake #5 show Farscape in 18.89 (25.89) days, at current voting rates.

Must be nice, since a 627.4% rise in votes since yesterday would give us about 5000 in a day

Part of that is caused by the overall numbers going up quite a lot when Herc, which was receiving about 150/day, got replaced by DS that's receiving over 400. The pie got 250/day bigger by that alone - we have to run 25/day faster just to stay still.
Ray, have you considered posting what percentage of each day's votes we did get? ie, (1060/12233)x100%? That's a kind of "if we keep going like we are right now for long enough, we'll eventually end up at this percentage" sorta stat.

Here's summat interestin'. Just running my regular script over the noms file instead of the votes file, for now, with a tweaked set of parameters ("give me the current and projected top 15") (EDIT: updated from 10 to 15 because now it shows Red Dwarf for Rallem) based on one day's voting, because I haven't got a week's worth of nominations files yet.
I'd like to tweak the script to understand the nomination process better, so that it could project which shows will hit the top 40 at current rates, and when. Still, this is quite handy already.
Apparently Blood Ties is making a serious run. I've never even heard of it... anyone? Rome is doing quite well, too. And Moonlight is projected #3, albeit coming from a long way behind.

Hahah... VUMP!
I fixed that (freudianly optimistic?) typo; my own computer is still on the fritz, so, I'm using one which doesn't love me so well, and, farkles C&Ps when I'm not watching closely.
DS is only a part of the problem; votes have risen, in general, especially for the top-end westerns, as they push to get Gunsmoke into the Hall of Fame. We've also noted significant increases in Buffy and Angel, over historical numbers, though, at this point, they really have nowhere to go without another, outrageous jump in points. Too, the Scapers have upped the ante, in the face of BSG's onslaught.
There may be other contended races which I'm not tracking, but, yesterday's increase to over 12k daily votes wasn't just the Vampire Flans.
And, we also need to get our votes back up.
As for splitting the numbers to their finest integers, I'm about at my capacity for early-morning mathematics; as I proved today, it's all I can do to post the numbers I have correctly!
I may need to do another Paul Revere run, soon...

Well, keep in mind that, many Top 40 voters are apparently unaware of, or, apathetic to, the Nominations Poll. It is a bit more work to vote in, what with the write-in and such. Also, it tends to generate decision-conflict; many folks have multiple shows they might wish to vote for, but, unlike the Top 40 Poll, you can only nominate ONE show per hour.
Blood Ties is (another) vampire show, whose status is currently in limbo, as the network (I forget which, but, not one of the big ones) is dithering over its fate. Even the Dark Shadows fans don't have much to say about it, largely preferring the CBS show Moonlight (which passed SIX shows, yesterday). Nevertheless, the numbers don't lie, and, if the voter-popular Blood Ties ever does reach the Top 40, expect it to become a voting powerhouse.
So, ya gonna be posting the Noms, too, SAB39? That would be mighty shiny to watch!
