If we never get any more Tales from the 'Verse, can we be okay with that?

I guess in the long run, we'll have to be okay with it, if that's all we can get.
I admit I don't want to give up yet. I think that a new series is probably not going to happen, much as I would like to see it. A BDS is possible, I at least hope, but at this point no one has committed to saying 'yes, virginia, there will be a sequel'.
At the least, I hope we can see a series of novels about the crew, and the aftermath of Miranda. Not comics, or graphic novels, but real, honest to goodness novels, professionally written.
It's not the same, nor as good, but I'd take that over nothing, and figure most of you guys would too.
But I'm still hangin' in there!

I think the people who canned this show were wrong and they know it and they are doing everything in their power to makes people think it wasn't a mistake. I have yet to come across a boss to admit to being wrong.
Reading that, I just had a maybe-brilliant thought: Imagine someone up in the cooperation saying "Yeah, we cancelled Firefly, but look what's happened now, it's booming, it's all part of the plan, we're going to put it back in the air now". It would allow them to gloss it over and allow us to watch our boloved show! Is it a false hope, or could we convince them that that's the right way to go?

Same with me. But now that I've finally found Firefly, I'm not going to give up. I will hold, and hold untill Joss himself says to give up. And even then I'd have a long, involved disscussion to try to convince him to not give up, and recruit people better at arguing then me to help out.

YES! And from the commentary and what Jewel said on her myspace page, the actors love working with Joss and love Firefly/Serenity.

Would I, at some hypothetical point in the future when all hope of seeing Serenity fly again has been utterly crushed, still be able to be happy that I got to see Firefly and Serenity? Yes.
I will always be happy that I got them and I will always cherish them.
Will I be ok with that? I'm not sure. What does, "Okay," mean? I'll never think what happened is optimal. I can think of no reason why I would ever look back on the situation and feel that Firefly being canceled was anything other than shitty.
That said it will always be shiny, and it will always be the perfect thing that it is now. If the moment comes when all hope is lost, I'm sure that will outweigh the disappointment surrounding the lack of other shiny perfection.
But the thing is, the important thing is, I have no intention of seeing that moment. I do not plan to go gentle into that good night (and if anyone has any advice on how to avoid it I'm all ears.)

I think there is a chance of another movie, if we keep the pressure up. While we wait, why not explore other mediums to tell the story. Why not do audio stories with the actors? They did that with Doctor Who and Dark Shadows. The comics are good, but I would prefer novels.

I would have to second that DRU. I read more than I game and watch TV or movies and if a series written by a good author based on Joss's input were ever done I would read them many times over. I'd purchase both hardcover(for initial read then display) and paperback(possibly more than one for multiple reads and wear and tear).
For me the comics are ok but I've never been a huge comic book fan. Really only ever into some of the Marvel series(Spider-man, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, X-men) But I never could keep up and eventually just quit buying them. I'm more interested in Adam Hughes' Artwork on the cover than the "so short it's unsatisfying" story and wildly hit-n-miss panel art. I would be more into a longer series with a different artist. No offense to the current artist... you just don't GET the characters the majority of the time.

From what I've heard of comics, about series and sub-series and arriving in a skewed order, that mess isn't worth it. The only graphic novels I have read have been of the Manga type, and I love them, but that's beside the point. I havn't read our own grapic novel, and I'm not sure I want to, because 2D drawings can't do as good a job at being the characters as the real actors. I would much prefer books, as we can fill in the images and the tones of delivered lines and things like that, plus it would be longer
