Upcoming films

After realizing how much I enjoyed many of the movies that I’ve seen this year (Norbit notwithstanding), I started to think about some of the upcoming films coming out next year and there are three coming out soon that I really want to see.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - 16 MAY 08
The whole Finn clan is jazzed about this one. I loved Narnia, and May 2008 is going to be a good month for movies.

This one is more a gift for Finn. Like I Am Legend, I doubt anyone else will be too jazzed about this one, but I think it looks awesome.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - 22 MAY 08
I didn’t think it would ever actually happen, but it has. Principle photography ended on 11 OCT 2007, which shall henceforth be a holy day and worshiped with great feasts and merriment. Of all the movies I saw as a kid, only the Star War films ever captured my imagination like the Indiana Jones movies.
This is the greatest movie of all that is filmed. Kneel in its presence and do not look upon it, for it is holy.

Can't say I'm too excited for Narnia or 10,000 BC, but Indy coming back is HUGE, as far as I'm concerned.
But there are a lot of cool genre flicks coming this year that I'm looking forward to. I'd add:
The Dark Knight
Iron Man
Hell Boy 2
The Incredible Hulk
X-Files 2
Hancock
Cloverfield
007 (or whatever they call the new Bond flick)
Star Trek
Doomsday

This year ? Oh, then I guess Cloverfield. Iron Man and possibly more Dark Knight. Indiana Jones, but I've got a lurking suspicion they 'll slide in more political commentary than is warrented.
I had said The Hobbit, which is said to be being made into 2 movies, the first one coming in '09.

I'm personally most looking forward to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Don't care what ya say about the length of the title that's going to be the best if not one of the top five best movies of the year, There's no other series of movies from my childhood that made such an impression on me. I actually told my mother when I was three I wanted to be an archaeologist or a museum curator when I grow up. So you can see how I would love these movies. Kinda sad though when I grew up enough to realize archaeologist don't do all the stuff Indy does.
I hadn't heard The Hobbit was a go. I did heard it may be a go but I don't know if there's been official word yet. Oh well either way I seriously doubt it will be a 2008 movie. More like late 2009 or 2010, as long as it comes out before 2012 and the end of the world I'm fine. I'm one of those that would prefer a two parter. I know it was one book but if they did one it would be insanely long and we'd get the "I GOTTA PEE" complaints throughout the last 20 minutes like with "Return of the King". I have no problem with long movies it's just most people seem too these days.
EDIT: Ok never mind I just read the news about the Hobbit. I am SOOOOOO excited.

I think Jumper looks very interesting, and I love the cast.
The new Batman, and isn't the 4th Terminator coming?
Indy sounds good.
Saw trailer for Cloverfield, looks interesting.
Since Jewel is in Tribe, that's on my list.
If 10,000 comes out (sequel to 300) in 08, I gotta see it.

I'll be going to see Cloverfield with my Dad. Main reason is he's a Trekkie but doesn't really get into the whole internet forums and such so he doesn't know the first Star Trek trailer will be attached to Cloverfield. I figured he'll like the movie and love the trailer. Besides Cloverfield looks interesting and even if it's not great I'd bet it's going to be a must see.
Oh also I remember hearing a few months back that a production company bought the Grumman Goose from the Donald P. Belisario TV series "Tales of the Gold Monkey". I am seriously hoping that means a movie adaptation of the show or an adaptation of the book "Where is Joe Merchant" which was written by the amazing Jimmy Buffett. Either one of those could make for one really good movie. I never watched the show. I wasn't even born when that show aired but my Dad loved it.

Ok I've seen National Treasure: Book of Secrets and it wasn't bad. Honestly I think it's getting a bad rap with the critics, though it was a bit goofier and a few points felt just a bit silly.
There was however a trailer for an upcoming film that I felt looked very interesting. Wall-E looks like it might be one amazing movie. I watched the teaser online a few months ago and was slightly impressed but the full trailer was very intriguing. The premise seems to be a robot's search for the meaning of it's existence. Seems to take place hundreds of years in the future on what appears to be an Earth devoid of humans and possibly any other functioning robot. It says Wall-E had been alone for like 700 years or something. I will defiantly be in the theaters for this one and next to The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull it's the movie I am most looking forward to in 2008.

The Hobbit is much awaited too, but too far away to get excited about. I’m okay with a long Hobbit, but breaking it into two movies would allow for an even longer Hobbit and a more faithful adaptation to the book.
The Incredible Hulk? Hasn’t that been done already?
Cloverfield? I’m not sure about this one. They are hyping it a lot and I hear it’s all shot on handhelds. This makes me suspect it’s a Blair Witch kind of deal, but the cool trailers make me think otherwise. I don’t know. I’m sort of frightened and confused.
