Has anyone made their own Kaylee parasol? If so, where did you get the parasol from? Did you get a paper one or fabric? What kind of paint did you use?

I know that poplollies.com sells already made ones but being the artsy person I am, I want to make one for a Christmas gift but I'm not sure where the best place to get a plain parasol would be or what kind of paint to use. Any help would be great.

ok I made one with Calligraphy / Airbrush inks, because I had the right colors, I tested acrylics first which also worked just fine, i just prefered how the inks looked.

It was a gift in a gift exchange and I stayed up late into the night painting it, wrapped it up in the morning and gave it away *sigh*, I will get ahold of the gal that won it and beg shamelessly for pictures.

Keep in mind this was hastily painted around 2am, and it could really have stood to take another coat of ink, the big thing about using the ink is you had to do an area quickly, and move ot the next, let it dry then go back and touch it up (so the paper did not get too wet at any given point)

oh yeah and so i could vaguely get the spiral right, I sketched it in the yellow first which is why you see yellow in other areas (oopsies)

That looks very cheeful! I just finished mine two days ago. I took pictures but my dad hijacked the camera before I could download them. I'll post them when I get it back. :P
