Just not enough nurses and too many patients all coming in at once.
Today, for example, we had theoretically one clinician to see all the patients. There were four scheduled for the afternoon. Five nurses (one was doing follow up), and no problems. Then the walk in s started. In under an hour they were trying to check in 19 people (ended up being 20). How on earth you are supposed to see that many patients (at 15 minutes each if there are no problems and you're just making sure they're still breathing and can get their birth control) in three hours is beyond me.
Luckily almost none of the colposcopy patients showed so the other clinician was forced to pitch in. I'd *still* be there if she hadn't. We were down to two nurses by 4:30, and I was staying half an hour late to help out. The last patient rolled out the door at 5 to 6:00, leaving the closing nurse to shut down and run the specs for tomorrow.
Whew.
I'm going to have a stiff drink of something.
(I had to think that through carefully three times to make sure it would not be unintentionally misinterpreted. Now you will have to use intent.)
The cough fairy is trying to visit my chest. Usually my head is not bypassed and I get a warning cold. This virus is jumping directly to establishing a foothold in my bronchiiiii. (How do you stop spelling that when it's plural?)
I am going to try hot honey and ginger, with cinnamon, apple cider, and rum for flavor.
After that it's probably home made cinnamon ice cream with home made hot fudge sauce, because if the drink doesn't work at least I won't care.

Why is the rum always gone?!
Hot toddys, I hear, are good for colds, or at least ignoring them!
I want you now
tomorrow won't do
there's a burning inside
and it's showing through.

Or fly to the heavens that watch over you?

You can't take the sky from me...

I could go for a rum about now. Sadly I'll have to settle for tomato soup.

HUGS Rosie... oh sweety that's a stressful day and then some. Glad it's over for you. I just hope it doesn't happen again. Icky on the cold...same thing happens to me because I'm allergic to Christmas trees and my mom always gets a real one ( which hasn't been an issue until I moved back in with my parents) so I'm trying to ward off the ick that will become bronchitis...so far so good:)Hang in there !!
ok *whimper* coffee please... no sleep ..so tired

Nope, don't use cologne. Women I date think the smell of sawdust is sexy. That's probably why I don't... date many women.- Gibbs

Oh dear, are you hacking too? Come join the plaguey club! I had a 5 minute coughing session yesterday, in the middle of teaching about respiration ironically enough, that had all the students looking appalled and disgusted at the end!
It's been going on for 4 weeks now. My co-workers have long since lost any sympathy and are now getting annoyed with me.

So far I've managed to stave it off, but if my allergies have anything to say about it I'll be sick for weeks..
HUGS Em I'm so sorry...try mixing equal parts hot water, lemon juice, and honey and keep it in a thermos. When the coughing attack hits, drink:)
