Here's one: They still didn't manage to squeeze any Chinese people into the cast.
As much as I liked Chiwetel as the Operative, I still think Chow Yun Fat would have been awesome in that role.

I have to speak up about #8 - if people "only" speak English or Chinese, I have to wonder why there was so much Russian int he movie. "Eto kuram na smekh" is russian for ridicuous - literally "intended to make hens laugh". Also, River's dream teacher uses Russian in her lecture. I don't think Joss ever intended people to ONLY speak English Chinese, I seem to remember him saying English and Chinese are the predominant languages, not the ONLY ones.

Chow Yun Fat would have been GREAT in that role; never thought of it. Chiwetel did a great job though.
CYF would probably be way too much money anyway :/ It's not like the movie was brimming with big names.

Yeah, but Joss said in, I think the first commentary, that the studio offered to pay for a bigger name in the role, and he turned it down.

*in Korean accent*
"Tis a goo death, yeah! A maaaaan's death! OOH!"
I also noticed that while Simon speaks the safe word, the subtitles read, "*speaking Chinese*" - many subtitle errors in Firefly and Serenity.

I completely agree with you. It's the same way for the show too. The only character that was even vaguely Asian and had a speaking part didn't even have any lines in Chinese.

It says that he was a Captain but I think in the extended scene it said he was a Sergeant who was promoted to Captain with a battle field commission. I added the battle field commission part which I assume it was. My memory isn’t all it is should be though and I could be wrong.

The display in the deleted scene just shows sergeant. No mention of a promotion to captain - battlefield or otherwise - that I can see.
