Looked good at a glance. Is it well written?

Fwim what I gather, it's just the webcomics, reprinted in dead-tree form. Cool and all, but not worth adding to my bi-weekly comic trip.

I have this.

As stated it is just the webcomics. Each story is very short (a few pages) although there are a couple that are split over several parts so they are a bit longer.
I never got the individual comics so I hadn't splashed out anything so buying this was alright. If I'd had the comics I don't think I would have bothered. Although having Tim Sales paintings in as story headers was great (even if some of them get cropped) and seeing the 9th Wonders cover where Hiro arrives in NY and cries 'I DID IT!' was fantastic. Always wanted that cover.

The stories themselves are fine and if you are a really big fan (I think you are) then I would say get it. Helps if you like comics as well.

The problem with the cmoics is continuity and issues don't flow from the tv show. What you see on tv is badly reflected or generally ignored in the comic. Not to mention that if your not a diehard fan and read the online comic some of what you see in the show doesn't make sense and leaves you scratching your head (Wireless is a perfect example, all this time they had this great new character who could read and send emails and such, and she was wasted on the show, a total of 15 minutes. The only way to know about her and her story are the comics and not many people went online to read them)

They're fine as stand-alone stories but don't look for them to continue the story along. Because the stories they should be focusing on, they ignore.

Best to download in PDF form and print them out yourself. Save a few bucks.
