Yup! Had a bad encounter with a Jolly Rancher candy; took the old filling out of a molar, a while back, which pretty much wrecked the integrity of the tooth, which had to go.
Went in, today, for a bone graft in the tooth socket, in preparation (once healed) for a titanium post implant, which bonds to living bone tissue. They'll literally screw it into my jaw. Then, after more healing, a molar crown will be attached permanently to the post.
Beats a bridge VUMP!

Ray: ouch? that sounds about as bad as having four wisdom teeth pulled at once with no anesthesia (it didn't take [i had local] so i felt every bit of every tooth being pulled. all at once) i feel ur pain, man.
