*waves at the mention of NWN*
That's be me - and Jubilee, her taking a slightly different approach.
3 games down, actually, of NWN Firefly - no custom firefly skins, really, per se - just some nifty models already made in NWN for "modern", "western", and "renaissance" outfits and scenery. I did reskin a few things with Blue Sun logos and ads, and did a lot in the way of 2-D stuff like portraits and loadscreens, as well as lots of music.
Anyway, it works - and I'd like to think much better than an X-Box version. The key is this, in regards to the conversations: I don't use "scripted" conversations. The style of NWN we play is dungeon-mastered (refereed) only. As a DM, I'm invisible, playing all the various non-starring characters the players encounter. A group (crew) of 4-6 players runs their own Serenity-class transport, fixes broken compression coils, lands on Higgen's Moon, brawls with locals and Alliance troops, etc.
Very different style than a "computer game" - it's very much like the RP'ing elsewhere on this board, but at super-speed (real-time), and with rules (actual gaming rules). Quality of conversation suffers as a result (it's improv-quality), but the sponteneity is priceless.
The captain getting down on his knees and asking God to not give him another crew like this one, or the pilot heading over to the singer in Canton for a bad rendition of Hero of Canton - it's really great stuff.
If they do X-Box, I hope the RPG'ing is good - good convo's, good puzzles. But I'm not TOO hopeful...

I sooooo hope that the graphic novel part is true. I loooooove manga and graphic novels ! I also hope the video game part is true ... but not on the X-box. I don't own one or care to. I prefer the PS2 much better. It would be nice if they would market firefly stuff too. I would love to have posters to put up on my walls.
