Has anyone heard anything about 'Tin Man'?

I've seen several trailers for the "Tin Man" miniseries on Sci-Fi but I haven't heard any buzz about whether it will be worth watching or not. I'll probably give it a try, but has anyone heard anything about this series?
Any thoughts/comments before it begins?

Ouch. Those don't exactly inspire confidence, do they? I might give it a chance, but my expectations will be lower than they were before.

I watched the dope about it on Sci-Fi's website a couple of days ago..It looked good , but I really like those 'Deschanel' ladies..Zooey is real , real cute...Her sister ain;t bad either...
And one of the male leads used to be on 'Boomtown' . a show that I liked because it was non-linear , kinda like 'Out Of Gas'...
My impression was that it was an original and inventive take on the Wizard of Oz , updated for our times...
YMMV , of course...

Well I thought it looked like it would be good, although those reviews have me thinking twice. I'll probably tune in Sunday but the Heros finale is going to trump it on Monday.

Saw the ads for it, and it looks kinda interesting. I'm not such the fan of the Wizard of Oz, but the imagary of of this version looks really neat.
But then something really started to bother me. 'Dorothy' character was looking familar to me, but I couldn't place just where I'd seen her before. Then I thought she looked like BONES star, Emily Deschanel, who I'm quite attracted to. 
But this wasn't her, she looked too young, or something....Turns out, there's a reason why she looks like her....it's her youner SISTER ! Zooey Deschanel! How gorram cool is that ?
She's like a younger version of Bones! How cute is that ??

Item 1-- Yeah, Zooey Deschanel ( and I probably didn't spell that right.)is in it. And since I've got a dirty old man crush on her, I'd watch it for that reason alone.
Item 2- In the L A Times the other day, there was a review, and a feature story with pictures. The reviewer liked it, the feature had some interesting ideas, and the pictures looked like an early 50's detective movie. All good reasons to watch.

Part 1 wasn't bad but I would hesitate to call it great, guess that leaves it somewhere in the middle.
I really liked the reimagining of Oz, now called the O.Z. as well as the changes to the main characters. Particularly impressive was the new version of the Tin Man. His heart being gone in the metaphorical sense is an inspired touch. That punishment he suffered was diabolical.
The CGI was a bit dicey which is to be expected from just about every Sci-Fi Channel project. While the static objects looked quite good anything requiring movement came off as very fake. Central City was impressive, kind of reminded me of Dark City. The flying monkeys weren't too bad but those creatures chasing "the gang" through the forest were terrible.
Most of the actors do quite well with their characters, which leads me to my main criticism. The girl playing DG seems to be out of her element. I don't know if it is her lack of experience or if she is not connecting with the character. It's not that she is doing an altogether bad job, more like she is slipping into then back out of character at random.
Looking forward to parts 2 and 3.

Zooey Deschenal was in Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy (movie not tv series / radio series) and was good but I liked her best in Big Trouble, which was very funny and yet hardly anyone ever saw it.
It also featured Patrick Warburton, who was the tick, which was created by Ben Edlund who wrote.....Jaynestown.
