Colored in with pain and crayons? Did the crayons have thorns on them or something? :-P
I agree it would be amusing to watch.

Howdy ponderer-ers! Seems it took a while to catch up and I have a staff meeting in twenty. Whoopty freakin' doo! So I was out clelebrating Nevada Day/Halloween/my nephews birthday yesterday. On long, long day. There were good points and then there were REALLY good points. Is there days like that for any of y'all? As for the costume thing: I just gotta say two good friends in brown shirts should not stand too close together.
On that note, cue the music!

So, my son dressed up as Mal, and looked really good! My girls and younger son were cute too! My favorite costume - a lady I work with dressed as a french maid(not a slutty one). She picked up a mini-baseball bat, the kind you get at games on promo days, and one of my co-workers said"She went from maid to dominatrix with one additional prop." Very funny, but not equal to the cop image I had from Zeek's post. I'm a baaaaad boy!

So, I think I've already decided that next year I have to become Stephen Colbert and hit 6th street (our bar area) on the hunt for my new hot friend. I can go around getting pictures with all the hotties while doing the stephen point thing.
Something along the lines of this:![]()
But more Halloween themed.
Oh yes there will be many a picture of Zeekphen Colbert with hottie friends.
Plus I can campaign for the upcoming elections with instructions on how to write in votes.

Hmm, seems Zeeks happy place might be one to mimic for my own self. Just be careful not to let the wrong ones in bud. Seems they settle in like ticks, the ones most try to avoid in the first place.
I'm about to sick my alter ego on my outward persona. Seems he needs a bitch slap like no other.
I need to be down and dirty outwardly more often. Seems things build to a degree of detriment to my outward self. My buddy John's alter ego is named Tumbleweed. Seems back in the day after some drinking and recreational substances coupled with blind male aggression Tumbleweed would take the helm and turn the town on its back. Mine is so suppressed that when he peeks around th corner a mile away people recognize it. He loves to take over in the "private" moments even if is only for a few minutes. And he loves, LOVES taking over when there is no need for restraint. I do believe in people having alter ego's because I have my own.
Now, back to the skanky thing. A discussion at the shop affirmed my theory of many women from a while back. Some women really want to be slutty without having to be an actual slut. For any woman out there who is not sure if this is an okay thing, don't fret. As long as it does not effect your life negatively, give it a try. I think all people who are in a relationship should
have that in them. We spend so much time repressing too many things from ourselves that the world never knows who we really are. If anyone we are with should be expected to be lumped in with the rest of the world that is a grave injustice to them. I am glad to let my alter ego take over for small moments. Seems I've learned alot from him. And I believe we have began to become the same person as it should be.
Here we go again. Maturity knocking at my door. Damn. Thought I could hide a little longer. (Grabs his B.O.B and jumps out the back window)

Don't worry about me. I actually don't think I'd ever go for a smoking hottie. They always seem to have issues that are mostly our (guys) fault. We give them so much power over us that it corrupts them. That's my theory at least. It's not at all that they're not lining up outside my door waiting for me to pick one.

You'd be surprized who is waiting in line once you become a bit more self aware. Seems I was questioned yesterday about the girls at Johns shop. Sure I flirt and yes I've been given openings but strangely I haven't taken them. I want a woman to tell me that she wants to go somewhere with me directly, not hint that is sounds like a good idea. She can be talkin' about anyone and I aim not to be just anyone.
Ladies, lets practice this. Repeat after me, but add in the appropriate word to fill the blank.
"I want you to BLANK with me."
or...
"How about you and I go BLANK at the BLANK?"
or...
"You're a good enough guy. How 'bout we go BLANK at your nearest availability?"
Not that the ladies here have a problem with that. But it just seems to me that the women (mostly the girls in the guise of women) in my town never or seldomly do this. It is a fifty fifty split of responsabilities.
That and I like being persued. Scratch that. I like facing off like hungry wild creatures competing to occupy the same space in the 'verse.
Is that a vauge enough explanation?

*scrambles in* (sorry sorry, but with two days of workshops [yick] and foot high stacks of papers that just don't seem to ever end, getting time to post here without sounding like a whiny lil' [fill in the blank here] is getting tough)
Longish response ahoy!
Zephyr: Ah...so does that mean we need to send her chocolates and flowers as a "thank you" for a. making Zeph happy, b. making Zeph believe the browncoat women about his good looks and downright sexiness (among other things)?
RIMG: Glad to hear the week is getting better. (BTW, WTFH is this about your van, and why TFH were you sleeping in it during the weekend instead of the new place? -- e-mail me 'bout it please.)
MsG: Gyah. First day back is on Halloween? Are the district PTBs on something?
Yeesh...
'Course the way things were this year, I ended up just wearing my usual work clothing for Halloween...and when my smart-alec student tried to throw the crack "Nice mask Miss.." I just grinned my favorite "crazed mad scientist" grin and started cackling madly at them.
(It's so much fun to throw them off like that.
)
GG: You like pasties? Aren't they uncomfortable to wear and take off for a guy?...Oh...you meant pastries...

Hiya Whims! *wave* Dark chocolate is always of the good.
DTH: Cute costume!
Zeek: So whe do the womenfolk here get to see guys in slutty outfits?
*waves to PheobeRosetta*
*blinks* waitaminute...you mean you two are changing the world domination plans DTH? *mockpout* Darnit, I think I missed the update... *sigh*
Best costume seen (sorry, was anti-social and sleepy on a wet Halloween night...saw no kids) was my student dressed in a witch costume with black and green pig-tailed wig and glasses.
I second Zeek in the "MsG must be a reader" vote...woah.
Varsity? Guess I'm Southern-deprived and all, but all that has no meaning for me.
*giggle* "pain and crayons"...*giggle* *pauses, blinks* NAVY!! *tacklehugs Navy* Long time no see.

I drove to Atlanta Saturday night. My van overheated a lot on the way back (and a couple of times on the way there), so I had to stop every 10 miles or so to let it cool off. During the cooling off times, I slept. :)

So you guys get all chatty while I'm away. I'm happy to see 120 some odd posts since I've been gone. Yeah!
We had no slutty costumes around here...at least none that I saw. I think women tend to use Halloween as an excuse to play with how they put themselves out there. Even the strongest most independent woman wants to be seen as a sexy. That whole virgin/whore thing.

Not to get too harsh on ya here, but:
That's total cowardice bullshit. If a girl is giving you signs and you're recognizing the signs...and want to go out with her too...then get off your freakin ass and ask her out. You'll feel like "Krull The Conqueror" (or some other medieval sounding burly man name) if you do and she says yes...which if you've been reading her correctly is the highly probable outcome. So quit sitting back and waiting for her to do all the work. No guts, no glory.

I had to go on a search for the news. Whedon, Minear and someone else have a new show called 'Dollhouse'? I've got to go find a synopsis. I'm tentatively excited (only tentatively because I'm sure it will be on a channel where I can't see it.
)Edited: I was a homeless runaway girl for Halloween. Our office did this full on CSI skit thing with each of us playing characters. The crime unfolded over the course of the day and pictures were sent out, etc. There was no after work revelry as it seemed most celebration occurred over the weekend (and I'm too old for too much mid-week partying.

Sadness. So while I wasn't slutty for Halloween, I was trying to buy that sexy yellow dress for holiday parties. Turns out it's unavailable. but then it IS available on the website and live chatty person said she could send it, except that they aren't doing expedited shipping right now, so it won't get here in time. That also means the other dress I picked as a back-up is a no go.
And then the back-up's back-up (different site) isn't available until the end of Nov).
The world's are conspiring against me being sexy. *Rugbug cries in her cereal*.
'Course, I'm sure not many of you gentleman care right now 'cause I was all ranty a few posts up. Maybe instead of buying a dress I should go to the book store and get 'He's Not That Into You' or whatever it is called. Heh.

You guys have heard me say that I live in a small town, right? If not, I live in a small town. There is no mall. We have one (sucky) department store (Gottschalks). Otherwise it's Mervyn's or Old Navy. There is a Target, Kohl's K-Mart and WalMart within 40 miles...but those places aren't going to have anything I'm looking for right now.
Closest place to get nice dresses is Santa Barbara, and hour and half away. I could do the bridal shop route and hope to find a non-bridesmaidsy bridesmaids dress, but we've only got one of those.
I'm just pouting. I usually come up with something just fine for parties and it will all work out great. I just wanted to splurge and now the universe isn't letting me. :pout: (Maybe the universe has seen my checking account balance.

And that's why I love ya 'Bug. Seems there needs to be a class taught by you or someone with your same mindful direction for retards of both sexes. I ain't sayin' a woman has to do all the work. But I want to be chased down for a change. But that seems to be the same old song from me. As it sets I am jumping on anything that presents itself. I decided to move it up a notch for my personal well being. Of course I've been asked by a certin someone if I've been having sex with anyone else and naturally the answer is no. And honestly it might stay that way for a bit longer. It ain't that I'm totally hung up on her. It is that I recognize my potential to be something great for a change and it feels good. No, it feels fantastic. I have not given up my BCMW aspirations, but I have decided not to pimp my heart out anymore. I love myself. There isn't anyone who can change that. So maybe putting myself on the market ain't a bad thing. But now that I realize my heart is best put to work loving myself first I feel quite a bit more free to do what makes me happy.
Now that I have said something it is time to disappear into the black again. Gotta run out and get some stuff done. Glad to see y'all.

Hey y'all!
Sorry about the dress trouble 'Bug, that sucks. Every girl needs to be able to splurge on a great holiday dress! I didn't realize you lived in such a small town (I forget sometimes that we still have those in California, lol). And here I am surrounded by great shopping (there's a Tiffany's about 15 minutes away -- not that I would ever buy anything there, but damn their window is pretty!), and yet I go to a Jo Ann Fabrics and make my dress at home, lol. Have you tried Nordstrom.com or Macys.com? They have a surprising number of formal dresses online.
Btw, I saw your note about MSCL the other day. So awesome! Now the question is, do I put it on my Christmas wishlist and put up with my siblings teasing me about my love of 90s grunge, or do I Netflix it and watch it with all the windows and doors locked?
Shoes? I only have 13 pairs, and feel like I have no place to put all of them. For some reason I've just never been terribly interested in owning lots of shoes.
Girls chasing guys? I support and encourage gals making the first move, but I think the default is and should still be a guy asking a girl out. Nothing wrong if a woman wants to make the first move, but I don't think a guy should expect it. Then again, I just finished reading yet another study on how women cannot get respect in the work place, are penalized for the same actions that men are rewarded for, and are seen as bad leaders -- this is even worse in an industry like mine that is only about 10% female. So maybe this isn't the best day to ask me. Guys, you make more money and don't get penalized for showing emotion in the work place, so get off your asses and ask women out. It's the least you can do.

Well, to be fair, it's not THAT small...we just have had a no growth initiative for about a bazillion years that finally has morphed into a 'slow growth' thing. Still, clothes shopping is and has always been terrible.
Although if I need a hammer there are about 10 hardware stores including a Home Depot within 5 miles. And there are plans for a Lowe's soon.
I love me some power tools, but enough is enough.
CK...I should hire you to make a dress for me.
The first dress I wanted to by was at Nordstrom's. Then I found the other two at Bluefly...that I can't get. Then the one that I decided as a fall back was Nordie's again...but it's not in stock until end of Nov. I did order from them in the end, though. They always send me tempting e-mails with pretty dresses.
I'm trying to decide what to do about MSCL...I really want it NOW, but I should wait for my bank account to settle down from some recent vet bills. Self-control...

Yay CK is still alive! The fires didn't bug you too much then? I'd expect a much more depressed tone if your house got hit. How's the smoke? Still yucky there?
How did the hubby like your blood elf Halloween costume?
And what is your opinion about the new Joss series? I'm giddy.

Why feel bad about it? I love 80's hair band music, and play it loud and proud!to anyone who objects or teases.

I agree for the most part. As a shy, self hating teeenager, I didn't realize how I really looked to girls until about 10 years later, when my emotional side finally matured beyond 13. Looking back, there were quite a few girls who had been giving me signals that I was to dense to get.I coulda had a GREAT time in high school! Aw well, at least one of them I did finally recognize, and we are heading for anniversary #14.

My So Called Life. Another prematurely cancelled, yet critically acclaimed series. Starred Claire Danes.
Chalk me up as another 80s lover...except the alternative 80s...not the R&B 80s...and not the hair band 80s (although, if I wash my hair and then just let it air dry I can do a mean impression of one).

Lol, hi there Zeek! Yeah we pulled through the fires just fine. The fire never got closer than the mile and a half it was at that first night. Still haven't unpacked the emergency evacuation bags, but that's mostly because I've been lazy, lol. The smoke is still really really bad. It looks like a heavy fog, though most of the smell and the visible ash are gone now (well, there's still ash on everything, but you can't see it in the air anymore). The doctors on the news have recommended against exercising outdoors at all until the end of the month. Until the day of the fire, hubby and I were walking in the mornings and the evenings, so it's been weird not walking at all now.
No blood elf costume, silly Zeek! It's been several years since I dressed up as a game character, though I do always look at character costumes with an eye for sewing.
Nah, I ended up not dressing up at all this year. The friends of ours who usually have a Halloween party were going to go to another party in San Diego (I think it got cancelled because of the fires, not sure), and with the new diet we're not eating any sugar and our alcohol is fairly limited, so most of the activities we read up on that were going on in the area sounded kind of meh. I was kind of bummed over the weekend, since I love Halloween, but I'm over it now, just looking forward to all the holiday stuff we have planned (hubby's first time to see the Nutcracker, Christmas with my parents in Austin, then Disney World with my family all in the space of two weeks!).
My sisters brought the costume love though. One dressed up as Kaylee, and the other's boyfriend dressed up as Jayne (wearing a hat that I knitted!) while my sister went as a Fox Executive. I have yet to see pictures, but I'm sure they were way awesome.
And I saw the news about Joss's new series. I'm more than a little concerned about Joss working with Fox again, and where that would put things like the next Serenity comic, but I'm sure the show itself will be great (even if we end up having to once again by the DVD to see those 7 episodes). OTOH, it's looking like the Writers Guild will strike very soon, which means that Joss won't be working on Dollhouse at all for maybe even months. I think he could work on the comics during the strike though (and video games, if we're talking pipe dreams here
), so maybe we won't lose him to Dollhouse completely.
So I'm excited about more JossTV, but more than a little worried about how it will actually work out.

Eek...whatever I typed made it look like I don't like 80s alternative. THAT's what I like. Going to edit my post.

Sounds fun enough to me. So, I'll be going for sure. I'm trying to trick other friends into going by not mentioning the re-enactment portion. They'd get scared.

Yeah we're not flying out until the 24th. (I love flying on Christmas Eve, I'm a freak, I know.) That sounds like fun though! Been way too long since I went to laser tag.

Well, making money (or even saving it by repairing stuff) beats my having to spend money for a new laptop, since mine died yesterday. (Don't get me wrong, the new one is all kinds of powerful and shiny, I just hate having to spend $1k+ for a new laptop and et cetera.) Plus the hi-larious horror story of just trying to drive to CompU*A (a 10-15 minute drive normally took over one hour because of funky road work happening on a gorramn Saturday...)
Anyhow...*grins and does a Tahitian hip-BUMP*

If these have been answered he before I appologize, but what did the crew of Sernity ever do with the ambulance the salvaged from the junkyard in "Ariel," or how about Jubal Early's ship form "Objects in Space?" I would think the crew could get rich from these two objects, or if not from the ambulance they probably could donate it to an outer moon for many needed favors.

mornin' Imponderables.
Though it never says it, I assume that they dumped the Ambulance so that they wouldn't have a huge piece of damning evidence on their ship in case they were stopped. As for Early's ship, well, it flies off under it's own power after River exits it, which leaves a lot of room for speculation (I have seem several fanfics that dealt with the issue).
On a related note, I know the guy who found the Ambulance after the series was cancelled and is working on restoring/displaying it.

LOL HUGS NV...yup When my brother was asking his wife who they should get to baby sit, Wyatt piped right up with "YaYa" ( keep in mind he only knows 15 or 20 words total) it was so cute that of course I had to rush right over and babysit. It was time for his nap and he snuggled up with me, gave a big sigh, and in a dreamy little voice said " Ya Ya" I just melted..
HUGS Neko and hip bumps right back...ok at some point they do actually learn a concept right???

Yeah. They've had it for a while now, and have taken it to several Cons. They even got it signed by several cast members and writer Jane Espensen. We are trying to figure out a way for them to bring it to DragonCon one year.
