The most important thing we as fans can do is to spread the word of the Firefly dvds. The more people that watch the dvds, the more will be interested in the movie, which - if hugely successful - may mean that we could get our big damn show back!
One obvious way to get more attention to Firefly is amazon - its peer-to-peer functionality will work for us. Many people have already contributed glowing reviews, but we could get even more publicity through the Listmania lists, too. I've made two lists with the Firefly dvds at the top, which are already in the top100 lists. For maximum publicity, these lists:
Science Fiction: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/listmania/list-browse/-/231GV5HZG
TIUL/ref=cm_aya_av.lm_more/104-0125849-5897576
Science Fiction and Fantasy: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/listmania/list-browse/-/XIYMD4SSC
94M/ref=cm_aya_av.lm_more/104-0125849-5897576
include some more popular choices, which means that - if you guys help me by voting for it - they will be featured when people look at Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Matrix and many other popular items. Bring these to the top (the second one is already number 3), and a lot of people will get curious.
If you prefer to vote strictly Joss, this list features only Firefly, Buffy and Angel:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/listmania/list-browse/-/PKGMG03XE
U4I/ref=cm_aya_av.lm_more/104-0125849-5897576
With enough votes, one of these lists could be the #1 listmania list, attracting even more attention to Firefly!
Thanks!
(Edited 22 April with the science fiction list and that we've reached #3, largely thanks to you guys!)

Doesn't anyone want to vote for the lists? Or is there a problem with the links? It's in everyone's interest to give the dvd the best possible publicity...

I don't know whether what I'm about to describe is the same strategy you're recommending, but others on the official board added Firefly to lists of other films and books -- and got caught out by the Amazon filters looking for just this kind of thing. Apparently all the FF references got wiped.
Someone with more accurate info can add/substract to what I've reported.

Ok - I hadn't thought of that. No, I've made the lists from scratch, but something similar may of course prevent votes from showing - perhaps they screen people that followed a link from a fan page and ignore their votes? Anyway, thanks for the heads up!

Actually it was us that got caught here at FFF.net since we were doing the same.
Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

Well, it seems to be working now - maybe it just took a week or two for the votes to register? Anyway, thanks for the votes, and keep it up

I voted for your list.

Thanks a lot to you, Zurn, and to the other 9 Firefly fans that voted! Now, we just need another 3 votes to beat a list heavy on Barbara Cartland into the top 100! Then it will hopefully draw attention from other sci-fi and fantasy fans to Firefly, and help secure an even bigger audience for the BDM

I got my votes in on both lists.
"...we're still flyin'."
"That's not much."
"It's enough." Malcolm Reynolds and Simon Tam - Serenity
