The Firefly Series DVD only puts money in F*X's pocket *spits on ground*, and, though that won't stop me from buyin' 'em, right now, Universal's seein' alla my coin, since they're the ones who can give us our movie.

Much as I love Jewel, let's not get all depressed, here. This is what she said:

No one, not even the most ridiculously optimistic, has ever said they thought what Alan meant was that Universal (or, anyone else) had greenlighted a sequel.

Pretty much, Jewel's NOT Joss.

So, I'm still waiting to hear from HIM about the rumors about Universal /being interested in/ a sequel, as expressed by Alan in the original interview.

Hang in there, folks. This is far from over.

Actually, someone said G4 was running it in their ticker that Serenity 2 got a green light. I think that's where all the problems came from.

i posted a while back saying that i would ask my friend that works at universal in the marketing dept. if there were any updates...

he told me, "it's in negotiation but in the works"

lol, i admit, that doesn't make much sense, but it SOUNDS like they are talking about it at the studio, in some form or fashion, so i suppose thats a bit of good news!!

anyway, just thought i'd share, i will report back if i hear anything further.
