Rich indicated he thought he had figured out a way to detect the 'rotating ip' cheat; so perhaps we'll be back up sooner than later. Now I guess he 'just' needs to code it up.

Hi,
Its been a long while since I posted, but I never miss my min 4 votes a day 6 or more if possible.
I was totally aghast when it was closed to someone potentially cheating and when they mentioned firefly cheating, I was so stunned, please let it not be true. I can't believe any browncoat cheating.

Lexx has had a long-standing (well, I dunno how long, exactly, but, it was news to me a month after I'd been voting) vote-trade deal with several shows, among them Firefly. Okay, if you go for that sorta thing.
Rich Labonte of TV Vote became aware of a Lexx fan board thread which, well... kinda bragged about an automated vote-bot they developed, back in March. It would vote every hour, around the clock, without human intervention. It came in two flavors: Lexx, and, Lexx plus everyone else in their voting block, including Firefly.

Problem was, nobody but a few Lexxians even knew about it. However, Rich determined that it had apparently never been successfully used to generate invalid votes for any show. He did find another kind of cheat while investigating Lexx, so, he's adjusting the scores, setting up a safeguard, presumably, against the new cheat, and, we'll all be up and running this weekend.
