From the old thread you commented on the Jericho fans...
I'd believe anything; they could get all fired up if there's more talk of killing the series; or they might lose interest in tv_vote as an effective way to spend their 'recruiting energy'. On the flip side, it can give folks a point to 'energize from' at times, so it could go either way.
It will be interesting to see where they are at three months from now.

Well, right now, the core voting constituency of the Jericho Rangers appears to feel that ANY form of exposure for their show enhances their chances of a real renewal (sound familiar?). They actively encourage their voters to vote on ANY poll on which Jericho appears. They know about the Signal, too.
Difference is, we've learned patience over these past several years; their cause has more immediacy, as CBS hasn't yet, but, could pull their plug after the additional (7?) episodes they won with their nutty campaign.
So, if they lose their show, which would be a ruttin' shame, and, a bad move for CBS, they probably won't have much else to campaign for. I just don't see Jericho transitioning into a big-screen picture like Firefly did. In that case, they may become another one of the fandoms declaring their devotion to a show with no further future, and, their numbers will drop off accordingly.
If they get their renewal, well, either they'll have nothing more to prove (unlikely, as they'll always be acutely aware of the precariousness of their position), or, they might stay as motivated as they are, now, to keep their banner flying. In that case, likely, it'll be somewhat in the middle.
Much as they'll be strong competition (in the LONG term), let's hope they get their renewal. We have a LOT in common, and, Jericho is a great show.
