Until Joss says anything publically, take all claims of "I have an inside connection who says..." as purest BS.

Guys, Tudyk said there's a chance that a sequel would be made, not that Universal is planning to make one. That is essentially what Joss said when the CE came out.

For those that don't feel like digging through that OB thread...

One person has posted that Nathan was asked directly a couple hours after the Tudyk quote hit the net, and he said there was no Serenity 2. So..

I'm still waiting for word from Joss before this rumor is put to bed.

Nobody can show us a direct quote from anybody BUT Alan Tudyk.

Please read the following excerpt from the source article again, paying particular attention to the text in bold:

When Alan Tudyk told me on the phone this morning that a sequel to "Serenity" -that's the name of the "Firefly" movie for those who've been up at Guantanamo Bay for the past couple of years - could be happening I just about dropped the phone (I didn't though, because the last time I did that it landed in the loo. Fried itself. And as a consequence, I lost all my numbers.) Tudyk says the newly-released "Serenity : Special Edition" DVD has been selling so hot, that there's talk in doing another movie.

"They had to put [the new DVD] out because they've been selling out of the other one and so Universal's like 'So, let's do another one'. And now- there's now a chance there's going to be another movie".

I dunno were all these people are gettin' the notion that it's just about the BDCE; the text is CLEAR: There is talk going on with Universal about a sequel. In other words, it went from "Not possible" to "Quite possibly."

Unless Alan lied (no reason to believe that), or, unless the writer lied, putting himself in line for a libel suit and a Browncoat-style lynchin' (not bloody likely, if he enjoys his career), then, that is where this puts us.

Let's wait and see. Pass me the cider.

Oh I agree completely, I was only trying to shorten the convo in the other thread for those that didn't feel like delving into it. The OP in that thread removed his whole post after someone gave that "Nathan gave me a quote saying no" so..the link was kinda screwy if you didn't read through the whole thing.

As I've said before, I'm not giving up on this until Joss comes out and says it's BS.
