Just went to the NBC/Universal Online Store, ordered sets 9-12 (purchased so far) of the BDCE. Gonna befuddle s'more Firefighters, this month.

Still holding on to the pessimistic side (you know, just in case) but found this little part in the comments on Whedonesque that made me..... take notice.

Folks, while I agree with the sentiment of much that has been posted, we've still got to respond. If we do nothing, then that's what we're going to get.

If all we can muster is a low murmur, it may not be heard above the clamour of other competing interests. If however we raise a cresendo of noise - Diggs, podcasts, e-mails, Google searches, IMDB posts, Universal enquiries, etc then that's gotta act as a force multiplier on the back of CE Edition sales.

Talking about a sequel is not the same as doing a sequel. We throw our weight on the scales & it may be enough to tip those scales in our direction.

Very true, but the "how" is the question, not whether or not we will.

It is a given the browncoat community will act. That's what we've been doing all along and quite honestly that is what has carried us this far.

I'm all for a response, but it should be a response that Universal will actually hear. I am not convinced that an email, snail mail, or post card campaign will actually make a difference. Universal is a business and therefore interested in making money. They will hear us and know what we want if they see those CE dvds flying off the shelves. Money will speak a lot louder for us than any email ever could.

I know most of us can't afford to go out and buy more CE dvds and I'm not asking you to. If you can, than do so. They make great gifts!

If you can't, then do what you've been doing all along; spread the word. Tell people about the CE dvd. Use guerilla marketing tactics! Go into stores and put the CE dvd in a highly visible spot. Face it out so people can see the cover if only the spines are showing on the shelves. Ask sales people about it. Educate them on the movie if they don't know about it. Hang up some of 11th Hours shiny posters wherever you are given permission to get the word out there.

It's up to us again browncoats. It's always been up to us. We've done the impossible before and we can do it again. There's a reason why we're the shiniest gorram fanbase in all the 'verse. We don't quit. Ever! When people tell us there's no hope that's when we dig in and fight the hardest. To Hell with the odds! To Hell with what the naysayers think! We know that the story Joss is telling is worth the effort. We owe it to ourselves, to Joss, to the cast, and to those out there that have not found "Serenity" yet to keep this story going.

Let's get out there and get our Big Damn Sequel!

Upon further reflection, I think, in my humble, understated opinion, that we will know something, implicitly, by this evening.

Joss has already had all day, yesterday, to quash the rampant news, if he was going to. If he has not done so by tonight, then, I think that we can safely assume that there's a deal in the making. Mebbe not a DONE deal, but, we can assume that Alan spoke the first-draft gospel.

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

By the way, if you see ANYTHING online that looks like news about this, please be sure to check the date. There was, coincidentally, a similar story, quickly negated by Joss, exactly a year ago, which some folks, either ignorantly or, with some ill intent, are putting forward as evidence that this is a hoax, bad dream, whatever.

Just to be sayin.'
