At this point, inundating them with mail might not be looked at, remember it's the little guys that open the mail and if we swamp 'em, they're likely to throw 'em away and just mention it. Sure the mention is good, but wouldn't something prolonged work better?
If you do write Universal, just tell 'em you're buying the CE, you'll buy more CE's and you'd buy anything else Serenity they make. If there's going to be an emailing or letter writing campaign, let's stagger it out, so they aren't inundated, they're thanked and encouraged long term. There are workable emailing lists to set up to do this.

Joss told us what must be done to get a sequel. He all but said out loud that sales of the CE would be the deciding factor for a sequel. So for me this means I buy the CE... a lot... good thing the holidays and some of my busiest birthday months are coming up. There's also my local libraries, my local firefighters, my local women's shelter, my local Crosslines, my local video store ( yes I plan to donate to my local video store ).

Getting buzz out about this is essential, digg it, blog it, write your friends, send out emails to long departed FF/S friends who have slipped away from the fandom. If you have a myspace account, bulletin it. Spread the word however you can.

Good old fashioned guerrilla marketing is ready at your fingertips, 11th Hour has made it possible for us to have flyers on our desktops, bookmarks in our books, ones to hand out, ones to share with our favorite coffeehouse. Put 'em in the middle of comic books at your favorite comic store.
Use the tools that we all have available to us from all the talented folks we know and love in our fandom and spread the word.

Wouldn't it be just absolutely amazing if, after many moons of scratching hope from tiny little remarks by Joss and Co., we might actually, finally, have something to be hopeful about?

I'm so used to tempering any feelings of squeeeeey-ness with patience, that I don't even know how to react to this.

We GET this Big **** Sequel, we need to make a whole LOTTA noise!

We need to be in the newspapers for three weeks leading up to the premier, holding shindigs, giving interviews, doing charity work in our Brown Coats, and, generally, getting the attention of the mainstream. Universal knows we'll go see it; if we can drag along a lotta curious newbies, then, our numbers will be truly impressive.

Come the day of the release, we need to buy tickets to every showing the first day, and, spend it in the theater. Remember, this is what we WANT; if we can get it, we need to show how much we appreciate it. Come to think of it, we also need to be at the box office, and, share out some of those tickets to folks standing in line waiting to see something else. We did it last time; we can do it again, this time.

If we don't take a second chance seriously, we won't GET a third. Yeah, we have a lotta numbers, but, every one of us needs to maximize his or her impact. We need to ensure that the release of our BDS makes Lucas' Star Wars Episode 1-3 prequel releases look anemic. We need to be more visible, more intelligent, more respectful and respectable, and, in all ways, do our fellow Browncoats proud.

When we get that BDS, we need to coordinate alla that. We have the network; we can turn the US into one, big, Browncoat Nation for a week and more. THEN, we will have proved to Universal that they invested in the right buncha fans.

Gorram right, we will.
